Morning all,

My bodies telling me I need a rest I think. My last few runs I'm really struggling with and tempo work. Did 7 miles this morning - first 6 tempo - last mile weary jog! Could be the heat too I guess.

Think I'll follow my training plan for the week then have a few days break next week as I'm off from work too so makes sense.

Strangely Brown: 'Morning Gin and Tonic', aye very good

It is warm out there. 12.2miles in the midday heat. A sedate 1hr44. Good stamina work I suppose. Had my little camelbak in the fridge. For whatever reason the tube got tangled, so for most of the run I could hear the water sloshing about but couldn't get a drink out of it. Still, was fairly okay in spite of that. Went out to the countryside and rural villages. There was the very sweet sickly smell of silage around.
Saw a very incongruous thing. An ultra-orthodox Jewish couple walking down a remote country lane. The man in black suit, black brimmed hat, long black smock coat, beard and ringlets. He must have been hot. Saw some ducklings in a pond, which for some reason had bails of straw in it. Maybe to feed the ducks. And went past the tip which had all the sprinklers on to hose down the rubbish.

Sefton park 5 mile race last night, very hot but got a pb of 34.40 , very happy with that

5.5 steady miles on paths & beach brought up 900 days of Streaking early this morning.

Strangely - that's my kind of running

Dunky - the hard work will come through very soon

MLR in this country for 3 weeks - 12km through the park trails with the hound - warm and humid - mixed pace but comfortable throughout - travelling all tomorrow but may get a late night run in along the beach - followed by an estrella or two

see you all soon and keep up the hard work

Enjoy your time in Almeria Cidlad. The castle gets a lot of repeat visits. It's very Moorish.

10km last night on the seafront prom @ 06:30 min p/km.

Off for a few days now so no long slow run for me this weekend as I'm on a stag weekend, so just missing that out and then carrying on again as normal on Tuesday.

Have a good weekend everyone, extra good luck to anyone taking part in any events, once again it's going to be a hot one so take care!

DD - I get that after a lot of hard sessions too.  As they say, listen to your body (mine is currently saying "It's Friday mate, soon there will be beer!")

Swittle - Bloody amazing...your discipline is extraordinary

Cid - ...and that's my kind of drinking (to continue the theme)  Have a great trip!

Just 5 miles today at easy pace.  By far the hottest morning yet.  Nearly totally still, cloudless blue skies and above 20 degrees already.  Sweltering stuff.

SB - cheers for the encouraging words.

Swittle - 100 to go!

JT - 'Moorish' Boom boom.

Cid - Have a top trip mate!

10 miles this morning with 8 of them 1/2 mile on, 1/2 mile off. Hottest morning of the year I reckon so was pretty tough!

Thanks for your support, SB and DunkyD - the downside is the number of days to give up if I get crocked

happy holibobs, cidlad!

Oh, almost forgot - 0630, 5.5 mile trail-beach combo. V warm, no breeze, tide just turned.

7am  Running buddy reported in injured with a strained porker, so we strolled around the park and I headed off for the trails past the Baths to the Coastguard Station, before returning by the gentle swell to the sandhills, cycle path & park.  Cloudy, overcast & rather cooler.

Ran half marathon distance yesterday in preperation for the Bristol Half Marathon.  I feel bad for not doing Parkrun this morning but everything aches now!  That heat is immense!

Belated congrats swittle on the streaking milestone. And Ella for putting in a hot weather HM.

Been in front of the TV watching cricket all day. Half-heartedly dragged myself out for a run this evening. Much cooler. Felt heavy on my feet running after a meal, but picked up some pace to complete 7.1miles in under 53mins. Ended up running through the busy city centre on a Saturday night trying to dodge several hen night parties.

Just completed the cheshire half at alley hall, great race about 500 runners, done it in 1hr 41 mins and 20 secs. Very happy with that
