A strange thing happened to me today....

I've just come back from an evening run, logged my route and time online and it appears that I have suddenly turned into a super-speedy runner. For me... that is!

l was tired beforehand and nearly didn't get off my **se to go out for the run. Normally i do 5km in about 3mins but tonight I did 5.26km in under 30 minutes

Not sure where the spurt of speed came from as I didn't feel particularly energetic!

I am assuming you mean 30 mins . cos 3 mins per 5k woweee  I would say maybe having a good one?  same as sometimes - for no apparant reason - having a bad one!! Woopee for all the good ones... yeah!  enjoy! mexican wave...

Big Mexican wave as that was the best one ever!

I actually meant about 32-35 minutes, depending on how energetic I'm feeling. Three minutes would've made me faster than Paula!!

Maybe I have a sub 60 minutes 10km in me after all...... I was thinking that that wouldn't be a possibility  for me a few months ago. I must go out on my 10km route shortly. I have nice little route which is mostly flat and goes along Brighton seafront & back again giving me potential to keep the speed up....

something similar happened to me during a 10k race at worksop few weeks ago. was feeling tired b4 race (had bit more alchohol night b4 than should have- very big mistake) its was so hot, the 1st 5k was awful i jus couldn't run practically walked all way, even thought of dropping out of race!  then hit an inpromptu water station provided kindly by a local resident, drank cup water poured another over head ,then hit actual water station did same then i began to run like never b4 ran rest of race without stopping and felt amazing. sadly time was 1hr 6mins my worse 10k ever . but cant get my head round where that spurt of energy came from, must av bin something in the water!

No mushy peas beforehand or anything else which would've given me that extra whoooosh!

Maybe it was the music I was listening. Unfortunately my mp3 player was on random play so I'll probably never be able to recreate the experience...
