I'm going to run minimum of 15 miles a week and 4 half marathons before the end of year. Happy New Year everyone

Happy New Year everyone. Margaret, I am doing London too, and have never run more than a half before. So my resolution is to stay tight to the training schedule!

Just the one sort of running resolution, basically to run a marathon PB.  Three main 2013 fitness related resolutions are that I am gonna have a real go carving out a six pack.  Think it's more of a problem of just needing to rid myself of a little bit of fat from the belly, have a feeling the abs are already there, just hiding!  Secondly I wanna up my cardio in the gym - linked to the six pack resolution -  so that's going to require 3 trips a week rather than just 2.  Oh, and simply because my mates are doing one I've gotta do a triathlon.... which means I need to start going back to the swimming pool!!

December 31st and motivation for all three is as high as it can be!

Edvanson... that's very challenging you must be super-fit ! Good luck with it.. it sounds very hard.  Matsmum - Yes, do keep to your schedule.. I get out rain or shine - prep. is everything (lecture over)

Sarah - have  you booked a half yet ? April is just round the corner ! Good luck with your "tri" "Monk" - I can cycle but swimming hopeless so not for me !

sub 80 minute half a tough but properly do-able goal for me. sub 79 minute half to qualify for new york 2014 would be tip top!

I would like to be able to just fit more runs in without things getting in the way! And to enter more than 1 race this year.   And to go a bit further than last year.  Not much really !!!!

Hi, I've entered my first marathon. I'm running the Manchester Marathon in April. Tried to give up swearing a chocolate the year before - hope I'm more successful with this one...

Margaret - I am 65 too and running London....but there the similarity ends because I have never run more than a half!  My number is 2540, and I have made a note of yours. How do you know which start you are going to be at?  Good luck with the training.

Hello & Happy new year all

Have a couple of things (more promises to myself than resolutions really):

1) My running goal is to run 2,000 miles in 2013. (getting too old for any pb's so thought this would be a good goal instead)

2) Move house (need to upsize)

3) Take up a new hobby...fancy trying something creative like a craft. Might stick to baking cakes though! Seriously though... I think of all the things I did as a kid: athletics, played guitar, sang in the choir, creative writing, gymnastics & football...I'd like to re-discover my creative side once more

to do more measures to prevent injury (always seem to get injured) join tirathlon club and get doing some olympic distances this year, win the school cross country race and improve my 38 minute 10k down to the 35 region!

04/01/2013 at 15:57

5k in under 24mins

10k in under 50 mins

Running 3 halfs this year for the 1st time, so enjoy the 1st one and then try and gauge times after that

Keep on running in 2013
