Good running yesterday Rodney. I clocked myself as having finished in 18:10 which is a PB by 15 seconds so I'm pleased with that. Not sure on the "official" time though.
Good day for a race and a decent course too.
BBT there was a group chasing me down near the finish so I guess you must have been in it. Looking round and seeing 5 or 6 catching up on me sped me up to the finish!
Day off today so back to it tomorrow. Still undecided on whether to do Bangor.
I'm now back from my 24 miler (actually, I was back some time ago. I do like to run at an easy pace on the long runs, but not that easy). Feels good to have that done. Down to Dublin for the Half next weekend - anyone else going down?
Welcome back Rower, hope the training goes well from now on for NY.
Well done Tommy on the new PB.
Welocme back Rower
Well done at the 5km, TG on the pb and rodney the good results are becoming a regular thing for you again
PTB - Well done on the long run. Have you any more planned before tapering starts?
Got the flu and cant leave the house until wednesday so didnt make the 5km I had planned but got 18miles in on the tredmill, got a weird noice complaint from number 31 me being 21 (5 doors down) at 16.5miles
Alan - pretty heavy breathing to get a complaint from 5 doors away. I'll get in one more 20m in 2 weeks time (with Dublin half this weekend coming).
HMM - pictures like that are banned, there's only one place were a ref plays 6 mins extra time when the fourth offical's board shows 4!!!
Managed a 18.5 miler yesterday morning in 2:30 so happy with that. The weather was lovely for running, glad it wasn't this morning!!
Alanr, I'm assuming the noise was an overheating motor on the threadmill 18 miles on a threadmill is great going.
HMM how many times do i have to tell you that you know nothing about football,so dont try to talk about it stick to running up mountains
Got a nice 20 miles in yesterday, felt good at times but looking forward to taper time already.
Uphill hope you get your back sorted, could tell you to take it easy but it not in your nature
Come on Jim - is that the best you've got. Do you need another 6 minutes to think of a better comeback?
Looking forward to club run this evening.
I was watching the United game in Liverpool airport on way home from weekend in Wales.
Most of the airport staff were watching the game as they thought City had "done one" on Liverpool.
Boy, did the air turn blue when Owen scored and started celebrating....
Alan - didn't think you were a grunter. Must have been some effort if your groans passed through 4 four houses....!!
Did two runs last week. Not injured. Just re-charging batteries. Getting back into it tonight. Doing Birmingham Half on 11 October.
Good luck to all those running in PP this weekend. Watch out for the hills.
Lovely wee run tonight - the extra day rest after LSR worked a treat. Fair play to Jim and 2 Johns - you were pacey at the end.

Another good turnout last night HMM. I think I counted 18 people last night. Not as cold a night as i thought it was going to be. I wore a long sleeved top and a reflective gillet and was very warm. ( I did notice that the first person of the year to wear tights didn't get the abuse he should have). I ran into training last night again and clocked up 12.2 miles altogether, then out at 6:30am today for a 4 mile recovery run.
BBT, how is the knee today? AU, hope your visit to the physio went well and your back is recovering and will not effect your preparations for Dublin. Didn't realise you were suffering with a bad back.
Just be careful with that back AU - were you lifting anything or doing anything which gave you a twinge?
A guy I used to work with took bad back and he is plagued with problems over last 5-6 years and very little can be done.
Turnouts have been good - hopefully another big turnout at speedwork also.
Rodney-strapping below kneecap plus treatment seems to have helped but have made appointment to get orthodics looked at this Friday.Hope fit to race on Saturday.
AU-hope back problem easing-did Jim pass on Physios details yet?Worth a visit!
HMM-yes- good turnout last night-looking to set new record tomorrow at intervals-21 runners 2 weeks ago-how many this wednesday?
TG-yeah was just behind you on Sat(1 second) was being closed down by 3 female runners!!
Just in from a nice wee run this morning

Nice one HMM - especially if you were out at about 5am
I just can't get out of bed these mornings. Too dark.
Saying that, I have to do an "early bird" tomorrow morning as I'm off to Paris for the weekend with the OH.
Nice runs this week. Did a gentle fartlek last night. Felt great. I think taking a few days off to recharge the batteries has done no harm whatsoever.
Really looking forward to Sunday week now.
Good to all those chasing PB's on the Bangor seafront this weekend. Weather forecast is perfect.
19 or 20 at Speed/interval training last night. We did 3 sets of 3min, 2min, 1min with 1min recoveries. I then did 4miles this morning at 6:00am. I didn't have a lift home last night so wasn't able to run into training. Rest now for the race on Saturday.
A good crowd from our club heading to Bangor 10k. At least 7 that I know of and possibly 3 or 4 more.
