What time GMT is it going to work out at? Are they 7 hrs behind us?

Thanks, Tim. I had really been hoping this would be on, but thought I needed to wait until closer to the time to know whether it would or not. I did expect recorded highlights at best, so full and live is magnificent. Would it be tempting fate to get in the champagne instead of beer do you think?

BTW, Chicago is 6 hours behind.
I went to university there. The marathon route went past my apartment building. That was before my running days though so I only watched for about 5 minutes. The city is extremely flat so hopefully Paula will be able to get that World Record. Go Paula go!

Excellent research Mr Giggs.

point of order...
you said 'Paula' without adding 'we are not worthy'.

It's probabl;y a bit risky putting money on it, what with it being a marathon and that, where anything can happen, but I'd be really surprised if Paula (we're not worthy, 2003 British Sports Personality of the Year Elect) can't find those extra few seconds. Personally I expect her to knock about two-three minutes off the world record.

If you're counting women only races, she already holds the world record.

If you look back through the FLM winning times, she's nearly five minutes quicker (i.e. near as damn it a mile) faster than any previous female winner.

How about a virtual Paula Party on the 13th? All get the beers in, set the TV up, and post to the forum! Having said that, she's going to be the proverbial street ahead, as at London, so it could all be a bit monotonous, although magnificent all the same!

Go Paula!

I expect Paula to win but it will much closer than in London - she's up against the Catherine Ndereba the World Recorder holder. Should be a good men's race to Kannouchi and Tergat both running

Don't forget to get some beers. Sit back and be amazed. I predict 2:17:58.

The TV Times I saw said twenty past one, not half past. I don't want to miss a minute of it!

Go Paula!!

Saw her interviewed on Grandstand today - she even has her name embroidered on her shoes - bless!

Thank your lucky stars you are able to watch Paula ( kiss your feet, I am not worthy ) live. I am stuck here in Krautland and will not see it at all, unless one of the satellite stations show some hightlights. Boo Hoo.

Congratulations Paula.

WOW, stunned and more than a little emotional here. I was hoping she'd get under 2:18, but to take 1.5 minutes out of the world record is utterly amazing. What a privilige to watch history in the making. Seriously AWESOME!!

What can I say?

we truly are not worthy!
13/10/2002 at 16:32
Fantastic! The best British athlete ever, bar none!
13/10/2002 at 16:33
Sorry, forgot to say, we are not worthy.
