There are some good runners doing Snowdon this year so the cameras will be busy with them I think.

Hey Jason et al ...

10k Xc in prob about 37:30. FL was 37:13 and I was ten ish places behind him. Came 68th. Went far better than I had thought, was comfortable all way round and were it not for Snowdon would have bust my bollox on it. Suffered a bit with 5mm spikes as each time we went thru the woods I lost a few places as I had no grip. Enjoyed though, I am starting to really like XC as the grass is so nice to run on.

WA- I might get some spikes- bought some Adidas XC ones last year, but they gave me massive blisters on back of both heels and cut into Achilles. Ouch! Which ones you got?

I swear by my spikes. only have 10 or 20 mm but they seem to do the trick!

I have got Adidas ones Jason and they work for me. Only had 5mm in yesterday. Didn't have time to switch and I paid for it a bit.

Afternoon

No running for me today after my two race weekend Looks like Snowdon will be cold and dry for a change,fingers crossed for you all

Trail shoes for me yesterday and they were a waste of spacemay invest in some spikes one day.

Got some Asics ones on the way. Much lower cut at back of foot like road shoes.....

I gave up wearing spikes years ago because of Achilles problems. I wear Walsh fell running trainers for XC now. They have quite long rubber studs along the whole length of the sole and can cope with most conditions. They are a narrow fit though and I wear a half size bigger in Walsh than I normally would with other trainers.

Evening all

JOND - I wear a bigger size in spikes too. I have got fell running shoes but I need all the help I can to stay upright.  I fall over fresh air!!!

MM - enjoy the rest. 

JD - nice tea.  Where are you staying in Llanberis?  Perhaps I will catch up with  you on Friday.  Are you going to the usual place for tea?

Weather looks good.  Quite looking forward to the race now after months of dread.....

NR- staying in hotel right next to finish line- Y Gwynedd. Stayed there last year and was ok. Food on Fridat will be at either hotel or Y Pantri which is owned by a forumite on Snod thread. Saturday food will be several visits to Pete's Eats. Liquid refreshment in the Padarn Lake hotel from around 7 pm onwards

JD - I am staying at  a B and B at the finish line too.  Will be at Pete's Eats too.  I was too tired for liquid refreshment last year.  After walking into a lamp post, I decided to call it a night. 

Rediscovered the photo of the Slog the other day.  Was one hell of a race!

Sub 3.10 or faster.  So long as stomach holds out, should be okay.

Depends on the day and how well recovered my legs feel. Feel good tonight, but might be different after 18 miles of racing.... Conservative effort and I'd like to get around 3.05. If feel good I might have a blast at sub 3.......
