MM- what race are you thinking of? xc or the 15k? No sub 63 for me on THAT course, mate! Ran 65.45 ish and think I was 7th- not sure though. I was 2nd m40, but only prizes for category winners. Thought that was a bit tight given there were apparently 140 runners each paying out 10-13 quid.... But I'm biased! Just have to be faster next year. Over 1 min faster than last year and several positions better though, so going the right way!
MM61- food sounds great

Well done Jason,... I thought it was a flat one

JD  good going no your not biased!!!!!!! the money they make the could easily have top 3 40's and atleast top3 50's then 60's and above just the 1 these awrads bought in bulk only cost £2 to £3 max so they still make aprofit
the only thing that really bugs me is in some races a vet wins it he gets the win and a vet place
i remember doing the magic roundabout 10k in hay on wye i came 4th and got bugger all
as the 1st 3 were all vet so the all had a place, followed by a vets place so they got 6 awards between them and the rest of the field bugger all,not even a bottle of water for finishing

got to stop drinking i tend to rant on to much

another raki me thinks

17/11/2012 at 19:58

MM61- the overall 2nd and 3rd got nowt today..... Have a raki for me

MM- Get the best of both worlds! have a lie in and then let me give you a lift to Bynea for the 15k- race starts at 12 o clock and the entry is a donation to the RNLI

17/11/2012 at 19:59

mackerel and pasta tonight with a glass of red

Bill McFarlane memorial 15k for me today, raising funds for the RNLI. Only a small field and despite yesterday's Elan Valley 10m in my legs managed to win fairly comfortably. First prize was ??100!! But seeing it was for charity and the size of the field, I just kept petrol and entry money and donated ??80 back.
A good run and one that is worthy of more support, so I said that I'd do my bit to raise the profile. this was the third running and it will be back same time next year. Entry is a donation to the RNLI. Race is long however- everyone clocked it at at least 9.5m. 9.5m in 1.00.03

MM61- well done to you too! Take it easy for a bit now with that hamstring...
As for the prize, what am I like? I moaned yesterday about not getting one and then give today's away!
My legs need a rest though after another double race weekend! Couple of easy days now before tempo runs Weds and Friday. Might skip the races next weekend, stick to training runs and 5ks for December and keep it for Gloucester in January
