Beetroot juice drunk and breakfast eaten at this ungodly hour on a Sunday morning! Why does this race have to be so early???

Morning all

A frosty morning.

You'll enjoy it when you get there JD.  Look forward to hearing your race report.

Have a good one all

NR, yes been a while, hope your ok down there.

JD, Not sure what the problem is. I know its down to over training! Its all the tendons that connect to my hip/pelvis area. Hamstring, IT band, Glutes and my old knee problem. Maybe just too old

Griffoson, well done on the weight loss. I'm an ex fat git myself . I got to just over 18st. Lost 8st. But on my way back up at the moment.RW did a story on me, did you see it?

Alex old bean, nice to see you still tied to that grindstone. Its been way too long mate, hope all is well with you.

FL ,didn't. See the story sorry but i know how hard it was for you well done. Mate, your. In the vlm are you buddy.

Llanelli Half

Ok, not a total disaster given the following: 1. my lack of running for the last 2 weeks, 2. the fact that the new course includes around 6m of trail running along a grit path 3. the fact that it was -4c at the start and +2c by the end, and 4. it was out and back and there was a headwind on the way back- not too strong, but FREEZING!

That's the excuses out of the way, but the bottom line is that I am not where i need to be at this stage. I did lead the race for the first half mile- lol! but finished in around 1.23.xx

Lots of speedwork coming up over the next 5 weeks to sort it, but otherwise I am not forking out loads of cash for VLM to make up the numbers....

Great running JD again, but i love making. Up the numbers lol????
03/03/2013 at 12:56

03/03/2013 at 15:30

JD, well done mate.

Griffoson, pulled out of VLM with this injury. I'm doing a few mile a week just to try and keep sane! did 7 mile around the Gnoll and canal today. Very slow run/walk/limp.

03/03/2013 at 15:42
FL- thanks, but far from happy- not good enough.....
Griff- sub 3.15 is GFA time if you are over 40, 3.10 otherwise
03/03/2013 at 16:53
Fair play JD great going,FL sorry. About. Your injury mate keep your head up.
03/03/2013 at 17:17

Great running JD ,still a good time in not nice running weather.

Great weekend here, park run yesterday morning nice and steady and then a tough Gwent league in the afternoon  which i really enjoyed and was glad i could still knock out some sub 7 min miles on a tricky course, then a very gentle 14 miler this morning. Never ever trained like this before hope it pays off.

FL are you seeing anybody about your injury? sounds like you need lots of treatment combined with rest

03/03/2013 at 17:34

MM- Trust the plan

Well today's frustrating Half must have loosened my legs up- just ran my quickest recovery run for a while for the same effort 6.53m in 52.45

MM, yes mate, plenty of rest seeing physio. Had xray and got a scan coming up. Looks like you are doing well. Keep up the hard work, it does pay off.

JD, wish I could run that fast at the moment. Nice recovery.

Griffoson, have you got a plan for your marathon? what time you looking for.

03/03/2013 at 18:48
FL I work in fords on a 12 hr shift pattern,so I just run to my own plan boy I'm think I will be around 4.30 its my first marathon lol
