Hi all,

The family are thinking of a race in Europe. We were thinking of either Prague Half Marathon, Barcelona "San Silvestre" New Year's Eve 10K or Calvia. Majorca, Marathon,
Half Marathon & 10K

All of which Running Crazy offer, emailed no reply yet of prizes but whats peoples views of Running Crazy from travel with them worth it financially?, Who it suits? and would it be better doing the trip upon youself.

I did the Prague one in 2006, me and my friend just sorted it out on our own, if you book your flights early enough they're really cheap. Doing Barcelona half next month (must remember to book accommodation actually!). Haven't used the Running Crazy so can't comment I suppose it depends on whether you're happy to book it all yourself. I guess your going to meet more people doing it with Running Crazy.

We've just come back from Barcelona having run the Sant Silvestre. It was really easy to find our way around - the metro system was great, and the streets are on a grid, so would have no problems with independent travel again.

Stayed in Hostal L'Antic Espai which was very central but on a big, safe street - great place, would recommend it!

Some people want everything arranged for them, and are happy to pay a premium for that. Others prefer to make their own arrangements, have more choice and pay less. It's up to you.

We always make our own plans for holidays and races abroad. Personally I see no point in paying someone to do something I can do myself on the web within a few minutes. The only exception might be a race that is hard to get into (e.g. New York marathon) without a package. Any race that you can easily enter online I would always do myself.

Our Club have used Running Crazy many times for our races abroad - they have even offered advice on events that they don't offer! All arrangements made seamlessly from arrival to departure - We won't use any one else. Great to mix with other runners in a large group!

I've run abroad several times and always just booked it all by myself. Never had a problem, but then I love to travel.

Plus with the events threads in here there is always the chance to meet up with fellow runnersworld forumites.
