My personal favourite has to be ULTRA MARATHON MAN by DEAN KARNAZES.Great account of crazy,family man who took up ultra running.He tells tales of ordering Pizza in the middle of the night and getting them delivered whilst he is running to the beech!Superb

The Perfect Distance by Pat Butcher - a superb account of the coe ovett rivalry in the 80s and beautifully written. One of the best running books I have read.

i read a fantastic book called Flanagans run by Tom McNab.The story of the first running of the trans America race.You don`t have to be a runner to enjoy this book.
