I have just started running again recently and am reading a book called Chi Running by Danny Dreyer.

The book is fascinating and the technique sounds amazing. but i think the only way to master this technique would be with an instructor.

Does anyone know of an instructor who can teach this in the uk, preferable Yorkshire or can anyone offer any help?

There are a few threads dedicated to chi running, if my link works then this is one of them...

I'd also recommend much of the thread on Fetch: http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=5584&page=1 where you will observe that at least one contributor has learned the technique to a high degree before meeting an instructor. But to answer your original question, there are people in the UK waiting to train as instructors, but AFAIK there's only one in Dublin and one in Holland at the moment in the whole of Europe.

Hi Chris.52
thank you for the link, more intersting reading about chi running.

I have ordered the dvd from america, so hope that will help me along abit for now, or atleast untill we get some more instructors over here.

Hi Eager,

I had contacted this lady about training - past FLM winner. You can either visit her in Ireland or she would run a day course for groups of 8-10 people.

Hi KKD
you say you "had" contacted Catherina, did you have the day course? and if so, how was it?

i read on her website that for groups of 15 max she would do a weekend workshop, which sounds very interesting.

“Would you like me to visit your club
and teach ChiRunning?”
Weekend Workshops for groups or clubs (limit 15 people) spread over two days.

don't know how much that would cost but it sounds more appropriate than the 70 minute class.

Hi Eager,

I had intended to get a group together for the one day course but life's been hectic lately and I never got round to it. :-/

If you want, feel free to email me and I'll forward you her full reply about coming over here to hold a course.

I am booked on a course this weekend in London.

You can find a list of UK instructors on the Chirunning website.

There are a pair in Yorkshire that offer courses.
