I know the feeling Jasond, managed about 51 miles myself in 8 days since my ultra, mostly slowly. Also tapering for next week's marathon so who knows how next week will shape up. 16 wet and miserable miles today to make sure the body was recovering, shows what a good spring we've had up north as that's the first wet run in a while.

Emmy - where are you? I did eight miles today in the p'ing rain and howling wind, and whilst it was great weather for windsurfing it was shocking weather for running

Hi YoungPup - I'm either in Belgium or Surrey (windsor way) - it depends on where I am. This morning it was just out and around our local town in Belgium but next weekend I'll be in Windsor Great Park for a 10 miler.

For me - the great weather was spitting rain, 10'c and cloudy... so I think i'd enjoy your weather more!

rachelhen you're doing what it takes to beat 58m on 10k - you are regular with your 3-4 times a week training. all the best! I cut down my mileage recently as I am planning to beat 50mins on 10k which I failed to have done last year. this time I am focused on beating it on Sunday race, keep your fingers crossed for me

57.5 degrees- snap- VLM for me next weekend too- missed all the speedwork I had planned with my glute issues, so it's going to be a step into the unknown plan is to go out at planned pace and see how long it takes to crash and burn

7 miles for me today, made up of 1.8 mile warm-up, 3.1 mile serious effort, 2 mile cool down.

I decided today to run a 5k hard in order to see what kind of shape I'm in, and am slightly deflated by the result..... I was hoping to be close to 20 mins but could only manage 21:19

I keep telling myself that I hadn't done any kind of taper ahead of this, and that it was a solo run around the local streets rather than a race with other people to chase, but I can't decide if this is just a poor run after a tough couple of weeks training, or whether this is truly indicative of where my fitness is currently....

5 for me today, and reached 200 miles for the year. Considering I only managed 260 in 2011, I'm pretty chuffed!

Don't sweat it YoungPup, 21:19 still a very creditable time, particularly if you had an off day. I think the fact that you were hoping to strike at 20 mins (fitness breeds confidence) indicates that maybe it was just the training catching up with you. You'll nail it with decent preparation

Rachelhen, you’re doing fine right now and only just behind me this month! I think your current mileage is fine for a 10k, I usually peak at 25 miles on a 10k schedule and ran my best time (53:34, I think) doing that kind of mileage.

Well done on hitting 200 miles Moonlight! Better get my skates on again!

Another 5 miles in the bank and i'm feeling good! Everything is running well and apart from some taper madness and feeling really strong and good

@Jason - perhaps you should run a few ultra's next week..... to give the rest of us a chance at the VLM

Emmy- Well done on the run. Next ultra is not until 3 weeks after VLM- and a step into the unknown at 50m. Should help the May figures anyway- but not the June ones!!!!

Yippee!  Feeling a bit happier with my recovery rate from the ultra after today's run--- 10m in 1.09.33 with 5 at MPish -CV all good, legs still a bit leaden, but still a week to recover more before London A warm down to add to the run gives Team No Sauce a further 10.37m
