6 miles for me tonight (and it wasn't raining!!!)

13/06/2012 at 18:08

Cripes - nearly forgot to log today's mileage.

13/06/2012 at 19:17
I did just under 17 miles this morning when I ran into work, and for 16 of those miles I was thinking about this competition as a motivation to keep going

Thanks all, and let's keep trying to close the gap between us and the pesky fetchies....

My legs no longer ache
But my foot is damaged - turned blue on top and is a bit swollen so biked today instead, but may have to give it a few extra days off. Sorry  guys

5 miles with the club tonight. I finally feel as though I am making some progress on my come back from injury campaign. In other words, I wasn't last.

I think you can afford to have some time off Frodo.  Hope your foot mends quickly.

Morning, I will catch up with this tonight, sorry I haven't been around much.

14/06/2012 at 18:27

Great to here you're back out there, small
Foot is loads better today, though still not right. I am literally having to be held back by Mr F to stop me going out, but I guess it is the right thing to do
I am away with work until Sunday evening (and I doubt they will let me off site to run) so my averages are about to plummet but I'm going to pack my kit and hope to do a sneaky one at some point

14/06/2012 at 22:31

Hi Frodo, don't despair about a few days rest. Your averages for one, will have had a good boost last week. And its not all about distance (though its a nice side effect of training and for this challenge), I bet DD was great for hills too - a real quality long run overall I'll bet

Frodo, I have images of you tiptoeing out with a head torch on, make sure you're fixed before you go out. A few more miles to log, I might do a second session tonight if the wine in the kitchen doesn't shout at me too loudly.

Frodo - Rest up. There is a still a couple of weeks to put in some extra miles for the cause

Everyone else... unless you have a letter excusing you like Frodo does get back to running

As one who didn't rest when things were broken, I speak from experience, so. . . Frodo, you know what I'll say

Midday run for me today, so should be off out into the wind and rain shortly.

15/06/2012 at 14:28

Only managed 9 out of a 12 mile run yesterday as my knee "went". I'll be joining Frodo on the bench for at least the next couple of days.

Freckleton half on Sunday is looking doubtful as well.

15/06/2012 at 14:36
Bad news, Gaz. Freckleton? You another NW forumite?
15/06/2012 at 15:02

Yes mate, just outside Chester on the Welsh border.

15/06/2012 at 15:09

Oh no ((Frodo and Gaz))

I managed my 8 miler last night and will be heading out for 18 tomorrow to try and give us some more mileage against the fetchies. I can't promise that it'll be a fast time though... we have torrential rain and wind here (Belgium) and it's bloody awful to run in!
