Fetchies are back in front  - come on everyone.

I'd like to mention that this morning I had one of the worst runs of the month so far. 8.5 miles in the cold, wind and rain.. I got to 5 miles and almost turned back but thought "every little helps" and continued in the final mini loop.

I got home and I was thoroughly drenched through!

Aching a little this morning, but as the fetchies are winning again I'll try get out this evening.

We're ever so slightly behind again, guys- no more hangovers, Tom

Sorry boss

Hi all,

This is much more enjoyable when it's close, so let's all keep up the momentum, and see if we can eke out a few more miles (without anyone injuring themselves or jeapordizing any training plans or races, etc....)

I did 8.4 miles at lunchtime, including some VOmax intervals (blooming tough, but perversely enjoyable). I did 5*600m with 90 seconds recovery, and about halfway through I realised that 90 seconds probably should have been a bit longer.... However, stuck at it, and then did a nice 3 mile cool down just to make it over 8 miles in total

Nice work YP. Agreed much more fun when it's close.

6.23 recovery slog for the team.

Well done YP

5.11m recovery run this morning for me and a cracking undulating run tonight 10m with 5m tempo in 1.07.04. Think I ran some parts too fast tbh- either that or I need to run a 60 min 10miler (may be a while- lol!) splits: 7:54 7:39 7:16 6:22(uphill and into wind) 6:03 6:00 5:59 5:54 (tailwind) 6:49 7:06. Seem to be on track at the moment with 12 weeks to go before Chester

WE're ahead again

Great work YoungPup!

I agree - it's definitely more interesting now it's gotten so close. I'll try and get out tomorrow morning for a recovery run. Won't be too long but it'll be worth it to help the team out.

Do I get any points for aquarunning laps of the pool?

17/07/2012 at 21:32

Crickey Jason - you're flying! How do you manage splits like that?!

17/07/2012 at 22:55

Another rainy Tuesday run. Pulled out the distance on my hill rep (wet grassy hills, v.slippery as is the norm of late) workout with a nice undulating warmup.

17/07/2012 at 23:30

10m tempo this evening on some rolling trail. Increased effort in the last mile for 05:17. Taper time so didn't want to run too hard ;)

7 and a bit miles run.

Rear guard action along with Emmy_Bug into the Fetchies camp. So with luck will meet up with drunkeneuphoria by sundown tomorrow.

Cheers Stephen and Emmy..... as I'm stuck in no mans land  not looking good, surrounded by fetchies.... need to push on to the advanced party

Fetchie sniper got me during the night. Had a stiff neck all day. Will pop a few pain killers and go for an easy run now. DE try your best to hold on. Dont know what Emmy is up too. Shes a little silent at the moment. Might be ded

Got to the track to find an unscheduled visit of 50 odd school children. End result was that my 3x1600m with 400m recovery got shifted off-road to my normal loop with increased wu/cd. Another 6.23. Over a mile ahead per runner now.

Tom1759 like your use improvised munitions ( im going to keep this military metaphor going until it breaks

Managed a 7 mile advancement with a not lethal neck wound inflicted by some Fetchie sniper last night. Now only 27 miles and a  few Fetch wretches between me and Kate F and YP. Drunken is just behind me battling a rear guard action but I expect him to be move up soon Emmy Bug, Juggler, Franny, Elli and Mathschick are a mere 5-11 miles aways. I can hear their guns from here.

Looking good, guys- just noticed that we are an average 2m ahead at the moment Keep it up!

Starting to build my miles towards peak over the next 5 weeks....

5.18m recovery run this morning and a slow, but not easy 15.02m tonight in 1.59.01 (the 300m ascent, including a 0.75m constant hill, and yesterday's tempo miles made it seem tougher. 0.26m warm down to finish off the day at 20.46

Stephen - I'm Down but not dead. Hamstring is playing up a little so switched runs today.

Decided on a gentle 3 mile run that turned into 4 miles. Now I'm going the lure the fetches not a false sense of security by being silent for one da before hitting the with this weekends activity.... Ok.... I should clarify that it womtbe nearly as impressive as Jason d's activities... But it'll be 4 straight days of running.
