Stephen, think the Fetchies average might be artificially high due to Mr Logics 772 mile run. It's too early for me to do the maths and work out if we would be winning otherwise. Your Friday night sounds near perfect though.

Standard 6.05 parkrun + wu/cd for me.

We were 3 miles per person ahead yesterday evening when i logged my run.

19.1 done early doors for me ... thought I was doing well till I got in and saw Mr Logic's awesome effort !!

Although in the intrests of fair play I have now corrected it !!

9 miles ahead on team average!

"Team RW are well ahead of Team FE, but wait a moment though, this is insane what am i seeing here John?"

"Well Mike its looks like Team RW are now running back to Team FE. Running around them, and doing what seems like a little dance. Now they are sprinting off.
I have never seen such a performance!"

"Truly they are not just out to win but to utterly crush the opposition"

"Its the spirit of the Games Mike. Its the true spirit of the Games"

Temporarily back up in the company of other members of team RW with my sunny day and taper shortened long run (although only a position behind Kate and Youngpup I am 20m behind).

Bit of excitement there with the 772 mile run  But I see things are back to normal now and were gradually eeking out that lead!

Well done all and had a laugh at the commentary Stephen

Sorry team - I have a confession to make......

I was planning to go for a 5-6m recovery run this afternoon to get my legs moving and prepped for a half marathon I'm running tomorrow, but my wife has just baked a Victoria sponge cake, and now I'm thinking that family time (and cake time ) may be a better choice......

Sorry and all that!

Had one of those 20 milers tday that makes you wonder how you can ever run 26.2 miles

Ok YP do 4 miles at recovery pace asap and we wont tear gas your house,  kidnap your family and hold them hostage on a Chinese container ship somewhere on the Indian Ocean*.

The cake we chuck in the sea!

Deal?

* this is known as the Jack Bauer protocol and pretty much always works.

7.54 for me today. Included wu, parkrun and cd. Nice to be running in some pleasant weather!

21/07/2012 at 20:47

Stephen- Love the commentary

YP- If you have the cake you will need the run all the more. And it's light until pretty late these days. Then, of course, there's always street lighting. See you later....

10.23m for me this evening- mainly nice and easy, except for the 10x100m strides on the track thrown in towards the end. Lovely and sunny with a nice breeze

Sorry guys, could be in a bit of trouble here, got 3 miles in to my run today before my calf got the better of me. Not sure how bad yet...

22/07/2012 at 16:07

Tom- fingers crossed it's just a short term niggle....

20.52m for me today. Phew! It's hot out there!!!!!

22/07/2012 at 16:18
Agree re the weather - it's lovely weather for sitting out in, bit tough for doing long runs in.

15.5 for me today, including an enjoyable Down Tow Up Flow half marathon (1hr 37)

Tom - hope the calf gets better soon. Take it easy, and don't run on it if it's not right... Without wishing to tempt fate, I think we've got this month in the challenge wrapped up

Hi Everyone,

I managed the runs on friday and saturday but due to logistics and issues with finding somewhere to take a shower - ive missed the run for today. i'll make it up tomorrow!

@Tom - hope the calf niggle isnt too bad

5.2m recovery run this morning- forearms are bright red where i missed the suncream and legs feeling really stiff. Surprising how much difference the heat makes to recovery.... haven't logged the run yet, cos there's more to come later

No time for complacency, guys- the ultra fetchies have got some big miles to log....

Hi Gaz, frequently have runs like that. But usually can be attributed to weather, hydration, motivation, being a bit under the weather. Sure you'll bounce back fine.

Tom - Fingers crossed for you, rest if needed and back off the pacier stuff if you can run ok on it at a slower pace.

As per WiB, will make up for this weekends and weeks mileage reduction at weekend. What events have the Ultrafetchies got on JD?

They have a 100k and Kent 50 to put down I think DE. We can easily counter that with Lakeland this weekend
