I have been resting the legs this week. When I get that feeling I just go with it. Will be back next Monday.

6.05-parkrun pw plus wu&cd. 3rd run in 24 hours.

Off to do silly things involving alcohol with old friends in Cambridge now.

All my holiday runs logged and 2nd to the legendary Jason. Couple of rest days next week but a 50K on Sunday, although depressing seeing the run/walk Olympians go faster than I do.

It'll be cloudy he says, high chance of rain he says, Wrap up warm he says...... I've jus been out for a 15.5 mile run dressed like its autumn and about to rain when instead it was 25'c and bright sunshine! It'll be the last time I ask my husband the weather forecast!

Hi all

Hammy seems to be back to normal so managed a 6 miler yesterday evening. No running today but hope to get out for a longer run at some stage tomorrow.

In homage to our heroes in Team GB, I did this morning don my lovely Brooks Special Edition GB trainers and run a rather hot and humid 20.12 miles (got a few daft looks from the neighbours as I ran back and forth down the road at the end to make sure I got it spot on 2012).

Hi all, back from a fat, very well fed, lazy holiday  First run for the month, a mere 5.6 this morning, including parkrun. Few more miles planned for tomorrow.

It's Golden night for Team GB

Bruce- well done on the homage

Emmy- just got all the rain in the world here!! Just as I was about to step out of the door as it happens, so quite glad really to wait half an hour! 10.12m with 10x100mtr strides tonight

Ive just eaten two bacon sandwiches

Watched the 'lympics at a friends house while she fed me shiraz

Cycled from London to Brighton Saturday morning/afternoon,

On a Brompton.

Took 6 hours

Drank Proscecco with my cycling partner and ate burger, chips and sprats.

Is there a running calculator to convert that all that into running miles?

05/08/2012 at 02:22

I may be drunk?

How does one know?

05/08/2012 at 11:17

Stephen- Posting at 02.22 is a fairly good indicator

My weekly weigh in today and only 0.6lb weight loss this week- but I have been rather relaxed Still, in the right direction- and next week is back to the business of going sub 12(st). Just watching the start of the women's mara for inspiration before my 20

We're behind, guys....

Off you go

Miles added for me. This will probably be the last time that I'll be in be top 10 so I'll enjoy it whilst It lasts!

20m with 12 at MP for me- ran too fast and am suffering now- feeling totally wiped out 0.51m warm down followed, so 20.51 to add

Recovery week on the horizon

05/08/2012 at 21:07

Feeling better now Legs still ache....

05/08/2012 at 21:35

Not surprised JD, it was hot out there is a stealthy fashion today (was here anyway). Thin cloud at first, alomst no breeze, but the sun soon burned through. Thought I'd rehydrated properly after, but actually realised I wasn't abput 3 hrs later.

Swapped my planned 11m run on Saturday for a proposed 20.7m with some guys with club on (flatter than I'm used to ) trails. Arrived and was told plan was 22. Completed all sweaty after a road hill (I wouldn't have run if training alone) 23+ So not quite a "getting lost" extra miles, but extra miles by virtue of following others plans Feel ok though, if a tad stiff-legged as quite a bit faster than my hilly LSRs of late.

Oh and to go back to the "animal sitings" discussion of a few weeks back today was sheep (normal), red kite (fairly regular, but worth a mention) and a dead grass snake (common, but somewhat rare roadkill in my experiance).

05/08/2012 at 22:01

DE- Have to laugh about hot- we had thunderstorms and flash floods here Well done on the swap!!!

The aching legs are mainly due to running 20m with 12 at a too ambitious MP......

Morning all,

A slowish start for me this month as I'm on holiday in Cornwall for the next two weeks

I did manage to get out this morning and do 17 miles though - I was semi-orienteering (i.e didn't really know where I was going), but managed to run from Truro to Perranporth (and back again) without any problems.

Morning all,

Well done on the run Jason! What does a recovery week look like for you? Just one run a day?

@YP - well done on the 17 miles - im impressed you could work out where you were going! I have a horrid sense of direction!

We had a really hot day yesterday so I just tried to stay in the shade. Am in Frankfurt this week and they had a huge storm last night so its nice and cool this morning - i think i'll enjoy my run tonight!

Well done on all the good running folks. just updated 17.8 in total for yesterday's and today's runs. Still feeling a bit sluggish, but nice to get out briefly onto some trails this morning.
