Back to early morning runs today - just a short 3.5 miles this am. Hope to be back out again tomorrow for a bit of a longer one.

Were still leading, but I can tell that peoples hunger for the challenge across both sides is waning a bit as I'm back in top 10 atm - after 17th last month  or are a lot of people broken from their past two months endeavours?

Now I bet your all out running big miles and not having time to post now I've said that

I managed 5.5 miles tonight. It was hot, humid and I managed to get lost whilst reading a map :/ Sometimes the streets in Frankfurt are very complicated!

Medal for you I think Emmy_bug, thinking of the cause whilst in - possibly hostile - foreign lands

I did something similar in Rome last year (so many streets) and out in the hills near Messina I had a right adventure in January, ending up plowing down a bank grasping bracken-type-stuff for grip and then running in a - thankfully empty - drainage channel to try and descend to where I needed to be.

Evening all Back from travels- enjoyed it so much we extended our stay by a day. Just added 54.83m from the holiday

17/08/2012 at 09:01

I did a slow 5.8 miles last night - always find running in the evening a lot more work than first thing in the morning. Already looking forward to tomorrow's early morning run.

CR- good man/woman I always find the opposite- the evening runs tend to be easier than the morning ones.

I haven't been out yet today- having a lazy morning- will make it up later- honest!

Evening runs easier for me than morning too.... but on a saturday I tend to run fine once breakfast is digested - helps if I'm driving a bit out of town to some inspiring countryside. All about how long since last eaten for me I think.

6.5 last night and my last trail LSR will be Saturday, prior to this months biggee

Hi all, back from a week away up near the lakes. Logged my runs for the last week, up to 15th, standard must be dropping....

17/08/2012 at 21:51

DE- well done and best of luck for Saturday- and the biggee, of course

Tom- welcome back and well done

6.48m recovery this morning for me- soaked. 10.01m with 7m tempo tonight- even wetter.

Just put my miles up for the last 2 weeks. A mixed bag because of the hot weather, Olympics and, it must be said, my own lack of will power!

18/08/2012 at 18:42

Yarghhh! hot day for a long run, some cloud cover which helped but in the dale bottoms in Wolds today I was sticky and couldn't wait to get up the hills to get a breeze. 1l drink in 3hr20 (17.5m /3000ft ascent and descent) run so been drinking ever since.

New lightweight super-wicking top got a good workout and performed pretty well even with the pack blocking back venting as per most my LSR - I could just go with a waist belt ala road marathon runner LSR-stylee, but prefer to always carry event-style kit even when not needed to get used to the weight. Especially today, had all my TDS kitlist in there, so a full 12l pack for my "dress rehearsal".

Hi all,

It's been a bad week for me... A mixture of tiredness and the heat. Due to life I only managed to get out after 12pm and it was 35'c I literally melted. After 7 miles I started to feel really cold so I took off my shirt to warm u and it worked.

I need to update my miles so I'm going to do that tomorrow.

How is everyone else handling the heat?
18/08/2012 at 19:20

Emmy- sorry to hear that you're suffering in the heat- hasn't been a problem here until this afternoon!

DE- Well done on a cvracking tough run in the heat.... keep on taking those fluids

5.05m recovery run this morning. Cut my run short tonight due to lack of time- ran 8.04 instead of planned 10- not sorry though- blooming hot out there. Still, change from getting rained on! 24 planned for tomorrow, so hope it's cooler.... .

See that the Fetchies have got some ultras lined up too....

Morning all,

I'm back from holiday, but am now in taper for a marathon on the 2nd Sept. As such, my mileage is down and is likely to get lower- sorry

8 hot miles yesterday afternoon, and 14 glorious sunny miles first thing this morning though to add to the pot....

19/08/2012 at 16:47

Well done, YP Enjoy the taper- which race are you doing?

24m done and dusted in 2.52.43 0.5m warm down, so 24.5m for the day and for the team
