RW v Fetch June Running Challenge

Evening runs easier for me than morning too.... but on a saturday I tend to run fine once breakfast is digested - helps if I'm driving a bit out of town to some inspiring countryside. All about how long since last eaten for me I think.

6.5 last night and my last trail LSR will be Saturday, prior to this months biggee

Hi all, back from a week away up near the lakes. Logged my runs for the last week, up to 15th, standard must be dropping....

6.48m recovery this morning for me- soaked. 10.01m with 7m tempo tonight- even wetter.

Just put my miles up for the last 2 weeks. A mixed bag because of the hot weather, Olympics and, it must be said, my own lack of will power!

Yarghhh! hot day for a long run, some cloud cover which helped but in the dale bottoms in Wolds today I was sticky and couldn't wait to get up the hills to get a breeze. 1l drink in 3hr20 (17.5m /3000ft ascent and descent) run so been drinking ever since.

New lightweight super-wicking top got a good workout and performed pretty well even with the pack blocking back venting as per most my LSR - I could just go with a waist belt ala road marathon runner LSR-stylee, but prefer to always carry event-style kit even when not needed to get used to the weight. Especially today, had all my TDS kitlist in there, so a full 12l pack for my "dress rehearsal".

Emmy- sorry to hear that you're suffering in the heat- hasn't been a problem here until this afternoon!

DE- Well done on a cvracking tough run in the heat.... keep on taking those fluids

5.05m recovery run this morning. Cut my run short tonight due to lack of time- ran 8.04 instead of planned 10- not sorry though- blooming hot out there. Still, change from getting rained on! 24 planned for tomorrow, so hope it's cooler.... .

See that the Fetchies have got some ultras lined up too....

24m done and dusted in 2.52.43 0.5m warm down, so 24.5m for the day and for the team

Decided to do my training run as Henfield half this morning. It was more interesting than running on my own, but blooming hot!!! Consequently, slowest half of the year, despite being pretty flat. But it's another 13.1 done 

Juggler- well done- tough going in the heat. I suffer really badly.....

Did a very poor 3.3mile trail run on Saturday - legs were just so heavy and tired. had a quiet day yesterday and today but plan to pick back up tomorrow.

Hope to have a few good runs next week on holiday in Isle of Wight, hoping a change in scenery will give me a boost. My two eldest daughters (7 and 5) are starting to get quite interested in my runs - not necessarily positive my 5 year-old's comment the other day was "Daddy, why do your runs take so long?".

CR- LOL at kids' response My 5 year old can't quite accept that I do all this training and still don't win VLM. And I have to keep coming back from races with "prizes" that I've won- normally in the form of sweets

Just a 4 mile recovery for me today, but felt better than expected, so hopefully get a few more miles in tomorrow.

13.4 mile on Sunday and a 5.3 mile tempo run tonight, really enjoyed last weeks tempo run felt good, back to normal tonight bloody horid

Out again this afternoon for another recovery plod- 11.36m for the day

Feeling a bit happier with 5 and a bit miles this morning but legs seemed to struggle a bit.

15.47 yesterday. 200m repeats today. So a limited mileage. Haven't looked for a while, wow the gap is closing!
