Cheers, guys!

More miles added yesterday when I ran part of the half mara course and some added today before, during and after the race.  Not the place for discussing times, but suffice to say that the training paid off as I PBd the Half by nearly 5 minutes

And PBd at 10m

And PBd at 10k

Well done jason!

A marathon for me yesterday... in 35'c heat and accompanied by wine

10/09/2012 at 11:29

Jason -  Congrats on the PBs, that is impressive.

Emmy -  Well done on the mara. Where was it?

Hi Barry - it was in Medoc in France. A great trail marathon and definitely one to do!

10/09/2012 at 19:30

Emmy -  Seen the race in RW, is it true there's wine at the drink stn's?

10/09/2012 at 19:47

@Barry - there's not just "some" wine - you run through the wineyards and stop at every chateau! I drank at 20 wine stops but there were a few more that I missed. There was not just wine but oysters, steak, ice cream, ham sandwiches, cake, fruit - everything that you could ask for! It's an absolutely iconic race and it feels like a big party. You run from stop to stop and everyone is in fancy dress. It's absolutely fantastic.

a total of 6 miles for me today.I ended up cross training on the bike and headed to the gym for some relaxation.

10/09/2012 at 22:30

Well done Jason!  That is bloody fantastic!

10/09/2012 at 22:33

Cheers all

Back to the grind today 2 recovery runs for 11.58m

10/09/2012 at 22:59

Sounds fantastic Emmy, perhaps even better than LDWA challenge hospitality and the free tot of Whisky you get about halfway around the Wuthering Hike. I think I'd love all that food

Cracking PB JD,super fast!!!!

7.25 hills of miles for me, struggling to find time to get out since got back from hols. May have to do some inventive early start times to get a ong run in this week.

No update for 1.5 days, and last post by a person who hasn't got a post on here, weird!

Not great distance last night, but over 2m on a stoney beach feels like a good short session

Hi all, an 8 mile struggle for me this morning. Was dark when I headed out and it's starting to get a little chilly so I need to make sure that i'm changing my outfit a little bit.

Where did summer go?

@Drunken Euphoria - I've been getting some weird updates from RW lately. Sometimes i'll get a notification twice or not at all.

I was thinking the same last night on my run as the rain started as soon as I started and I was straight into the cold river wind. Then I thought, stop being a wimp, it was much colder, wetter than this for much longer during TDS in Alps the other week Got me going and to boot the rain soon stopped and when i got to the turnaround I was rewarded with a great assisting wind so could really bound over the terrain One small battle won in my quest to battle-harden my thoughts fopr those tough and/or long runs when giving up is a very tempting option (but one I will self-punish for for weeks/months after)

DE- well done

Bit busy lately, but squeezed a few miles in- will update in a bit. Might do an impromptu 5k race tomorrow- with some extra miles, of course

14/09/2012 at 14:31

Hi JD , parkrun? (5k). Keep meaning to do Hull one, but its my long run day and I can't really fit an all out 5k into an LSR and do either justice.

9.75m of fartlek and tempo on trails last night, going well. Back to double figure LSR at the weekend

15/09/2012 at 13:45

DE- No, a charity 5k with a small field and not many club runners, which allowed me to win No parkruns around here- nearest is about 50m away. However, I and a few clubmates are looking into the possibility of strating one....

6.4m nice and easy so far today- more later
