RW v Fetch June Running Challenge

Hi folks. Yes, i see we're behind again. Ah well.

However, I hit a personal target yesterday. Having only returned to running a few years ago, and nursing injury for most of the time, I just got to my year's target yesterday. 1500 miles.   It may be small fry for some of you (did Jason hit that total in Feb?) but I didn't even make 900 miles last year, so I'm feeling quite pleased, and glad that this "challenge" is still out there, as it definitely helps me get out of the door some days!

Good stuff YP, I've only just broken the 2000 mark myself for first time this year. On for it for two years, but missed out through late summer injuries (only by 25m laste year). Its a "nice to have done" motivator

Think I'm going to keep up mileage as long as possible this year, till dirty nappies intervene anyway.

On challange front, just looked, though looks like were a fair bit behind, I think we have a few people who haven't logged in awhile. The top ten is split 5/5, top twenty 11/9 in fetch favour, after that its even 21-30. So its still to play for if we can just move up some 30's to 20's, 20's to teens and break that 11-14th positions held by FE its all to play for

I've decided to make this challenge a bit more personal, and, purely in the interests of a little extra motivation, have set my sights on overtaking the two Fetchies directly above me (Swittle and DeeGee) ....

I've done my research, gone back to the previous months, and in June, July, and September I was above both of them in the leaderboard, but in August Swittle beat me, and in October I was behind them both...

However, I've decided that come what may (as long as they're not both doing some mad 100+ mile ultra in the next week???), my goal is to be looking down (in a nice friendly competitive way) at both of them come 1st December.....

Will be rejoining the challenge for December as I've agreed to do a streak for December and it's time to knuckle down to some serious winter training

hello forumites..good to see this still going, I may also hop back on board for december (the opposition tho)..I was tempted to make a last minute registration for november and chuck my 200+ miles into the fetchie pot..was suprised to see thatwould have put me top, whats been going on?

Hi Clairster, I thought when looking at the top 10 this month your name was conspicuous by its absence (and I didn't think it a bad thing for team RW). Glad your going along well.

Well done to all, regardless of team, regardless of mileage and especially if you've beaten up your target or set a best mileage month (especially difficult as it gets colder). I hope everybody will sign on again for one more month and try to up the anti one more time? The other bonus is this month many will get distracted along the way, so a good month should see you ride higher up that chart you go (if your a bit competitive like me anyway)

I shall sign up again for the last month, I'll have done them all then. Past few months have been pretty poor as I go from one niggle to another. Just hope I can keep injury free from now on.

Well, I hit 130 for the month, so 10 over target , but it's not enough to see us past the Fetchies

But who knows what next month might bring ....
