Got the 20 done but the last couple of miles wern't pretty. Going to have a couple of easy days ahead of Sundays Wrexham Half Marathon.

Gaz -  Good effort on the 10K, I was there a couple of years ago but last couple of efforts have been just over.

Jason -  Climbing the table nicely.

Apologies not logged much this week. Ran Wokingham HM last Sunday and went well but calf felt  sore on the Monday, did 8 miles Tues but calf not right.  Managed to see my physio wednesday who sorted out a  knot of muscle in my right calf, recommended no running for a couple of days and I can still feel it when I'm walking so bigger picture and all that am going to try and keep my sensible head on and recover properly.  Hopefully be back on it next week.

Barry- Has he given you some stretches to do as well? Not sure about the no running- is it bruised as a result of the treatment? Hope you recover soon anyhow...

Well done on the sub 40 Gaz. It's great when you break a milestone.

I had 4 days off as a result of travelling to Aberdeen to watch Scotland play. It resulted in being awake for 24 hours and I didn't have the energy to run for 3 days after but getting back to normal now. Managed a triple session on Thursday though (Valentines) The wife was pleased - not!

Well today didn't go to plan for me! Ran the first 10 as planned, but the gale force headwind from 7-10m saw me fighting to get back to the start in time- lol! Wasn't happy realising that i would have to face this again!! Got back to start, but no time for drink before the off. Had a drink at 13m- in hindsight too much and was promptly sick for the next mile or so, prompting 2 stops. this along with the wind made me decide to ditch the mp effort and just run it easily. Still miles in the bank! 20.01m an a bit of a warm up (jog from the car) for 20.15m

Gaz - I'm very jealous of the sub 40 10k.... I've been banging on that door for about 9 months, but the closest I've got is 40:39...

YP, its took me just under a year to shave the last minute off my 10K time. Keep at it, it'll come!


I had a great day today. knocked a smidgen under 2 minutes off my HM PB time down to 1:28:15 on the back of a 70 mile training week and a 20 mile run on Thursday. Very happy camper to get under 40 mins for 10K and under 1:30 for the Half in the space of a week without compromising my training.

Gaz -  Well done on your HM PB, you are flying. Mara PB soon?

Tried running as my calf felt better, but pain has come back so going to try X training for the rest of the week. So probably not much more from me this month.

I hope so Barry. I'm currently on 3:16 which was run when I was clocking 1:33 ish for the Half so hopefully I can improve on that in April at Manchester marathon.

Gaz -  Looks very doable, I converted a 1:28 HM to 3:15:08 at Abingdon last year, was happy with the PB, but  thought I was going to get GFA but struggled in last 3. Lady luck was shining though and I got a ballot place for VLM this year.

Nice stroke of luck! I take it the GFA time was sub 3:15 and you missed out by 8 seconds? Ouch!

6 slow miles this morning on aching legs, 7 slow miles this evening on much better, but still tired, legs.
