I was bought a little jar of Saffron from my folks and i haven't a clue what to do with it/cook with it. I remember someone saying you can cook rice with it but i wouldn't know where to start, and don't want to waste it.
So, if anyone has any good recipies that'd be great.

I use it when making paella-it makes it go a delicious colour! You only need a few strands...erm, I'm sure there are lots of recies that use it...

Par boil potatoes, drain add a spoonful of semilina, put the lid on the pan and give them a good shake.
Now shallow fry in oil with some saffron in it - not too much, a few strands.
Now roast your potatoes - they will be golden and taste lovely.

I'd keep it in the jar... Or make saffron buns.

Being a bit thick here Wapster but my memories of semolina are nasty. Do you get it dry or already in a tin?

Dry. Don't use to much. It gives a lovely crispy coat to the spud.
Nothing like the stuff you stirred jam into at school.

I think you have to toast it to get the best colour from it!
