Hope you have a better day UTC.

Not sure what my training will be tonight: it rather depends on the rain, although I may opt for a big yoga session.

wet, wet, wet with us. a rather soggy 5 miles this morning but felt good. until i took my top off and felt the sting on my nipples . must remember vaseline when its that wet....

Ouch Longbow !

Must have rained overnight here, as everywhere was wet this morning, but no real heavy rain... YET !

Well I did 10m yesterday and am subsequently rather creaking a bit today, so should probably take today as a rest day or maybe go on the cross trainer later.

In the meantime I have a *lovely* job to do - u-bend under sink is blocked again so rather than paying a fortune to get a plumber in I am going to attempt to take it all apart myself ......marigolds and cleaning brush at the ready! I had to do this a couple of years ago because whatever genius plumbed the sink in, has put an outflow pipe going upwards through the wall to connect to the drain pipe outside . Maybe they thought the laws of gravity didnt apply .

TP - there is a chemical you can buy to do same job.

11/10/2012 at 12:32

Aha! Well, I have discovered the origin of the leak! One side of the u-bend was missing its rubber sealant ring and all the gunk must have been pushing water out through it. All seems fine now and wasnt as messy as I thought .

OH - chemical now also put down it . If I had put it down earlier it all would have just leaked out .

OMG though the crp you accumulate under the sink - also had a good clear out whilst I was at it!!!!

Ouch Longbow  I keep forgetting to put bodyglide on when I go out for training runs and quite often end up with chafing from my sports bra.

I really do not understand why they cannot design decent chafe free sports bras. It is not rocket science: stitching, seams and 'lining bands' cause friction.

11/10/2012 at 12:42

Oh and badly thought out fastenings too

11/10/2012 at 13:52

Well done on the plumbing TP. Glad you didn't do the old "take off U-bend over bucket, carefully draining everything. Stand up and chuck partly filled bucket down sink. Swear a lot" trick that I've managed more than once.

11/10/2012 at 14:25

LOL 57.5 and yes, well done TP.

11/10/2012 at 14:57

Lol 57.5 - no all the gunk and dirty water got flushed down the toilet . The test that I have really sealed it all properly will come when I next put the washing machine on ....bucket at the ready for that one!

11/10/2012 at 17:01

Well done on the plumbing efforts - I'm seriously impressed.

yes, totally agree about bad designs of sports underwear, esp fastenings really don't think about it. Carry rucsacs doesn't always help either.

Def interested in hearing any other rumours of an S2S this year.

No rain here yet but I think it's on it's way. Odd day really, was working this morning but when I headed to forest to squeeze in something before school pick-up I was shocked how mild it was!

Felt shattered today but did just shy of 6 miles with hill reps in the middle. Hope I feel more sprightly tmrw, trying to build up a training buffer before the delights of the 'tattie hols' hit and training is confined to turbo, although am sure kids won't mind being despatched on their bikes with me trailing behind them on foot - they bike too fast for me now, gone are the days when I could happily jog along next to them.

Todays job was *easy* plumbing - *difficult* plumbing categories are the numerous jobs I would leave to my father . Like one time I had to help him fix a hot water boiler (ie my job was to pass the tools and listen!) whilst he attempted to explain in step by step detail  how the copper pipes were all connected to the boiler and how you had to get the right circuit going in the pipes (? ) cos if you didnt it would mess it all up......anyhow, my general opinion on that one was if I ever had a broken boiler I would call him !!

Also interested in S2S if it goes ahead .

Only two weeks to Jedburgh ultra ....that has come quickly. I think I will take it easy the next couple of weeks.

Ouch longbow

Well done TP. Its very satisfying when you fix something yourself that would have cost money otherwise

Hope today was better for you UTC

Its the same organisers as Glen Ogle & Glenmore 24 that mentioned putting on S2S.

I must have lost my post this morning. Belated morning to you all

11/10/2012 at 18:30

Birkmyre - morning / evening .

Mrs Mac - saving money is the best part .

11/10/2012 at 18:44

TP: Aye very good same to you

11/10/2012 at 20:02

I hope S2S does go ahead, better try to maintain some fitness. Didn't get into GO. Be nice if some failiar faces/names from here were there.

Evening BM.

Just 6.5 miles with our group for me after work but was a tough and speedy (for me) one into the wind a lot of the way. Must say it's still mild and dry here though a little windy. Hardly anyone out though, where are they all hiding?

Well done with the plumbing TP!

11/10/2012 at 21:12

Evening elspeth.

I've noticed alot more pople out on bikes since the Olympics, anybody else noticed this !?

11/10/2012 at 21:45

Well the rain has reached this bit of the north, along with a sharp drop in temps (it was very mild at lunchtime as cragchick says), just in time for my run. Cold, wet and miserable! Amazingly I saw another runner though, something I've rarely seen in Nairn in the nicer weather.

Now how come the tatty hols in Moray are a week later than in Highland? You guys got slower growing tatties or what?

I'm learning about growing carrots in my first autumn in Nairn (there are a lot of them about). A month ago huge piles of hay bales appeared in all the fields, which gave me something new to look at as I jogged by. Today they were shredding the bales to cover the carrots, I guess that makes sense when the frost is coming. Now I wonder when they harvest them!

evening (evening to u2 BM )

Much better day today thanks, in every respect. Energy levels much better last couple of days and managed a good session on the treadmill before abs and a class tonight. Felt great all the way through. Phew, thought I was losing it for a bit there!

TP, well done on the plumbing... afraid I know nothing in that vein, would need to call on professionals!

BM, yes I've noticed more cyclists since the Olympics, definitely. Good to see. Bf has booked his 1st Velodrome training session. Im hoping to do so too but will wait til he has been and see how he gets on before I part with the cash!!

Nice running Elspeth.

Another uni day for me tomorrow so will likely walk in. Not sure what plans are tomorrow but have the XC Saturday so dont want to overdo it. Looking forward to it now Im feeling better (think that HM took more out of me than I realised!!)
