Hi ffb- your predictive text is interesting.....maybe I should change my name- I also just sat herer ttrying to work out what yuo meant by "bum led" along. lol.

I had a good day- finished about 6:07- simialr to last year, despite a lightly longer course. now warm, clean, and mildy pissed, after a couple of beers- we met an old friend at the inn after, which was good.

I really enjoy this race- enough variation in terrain to avoid getting too sore from constans up or down- hill. THe views are great, and the race is just so friendly.

So. next year then?

Well done FFB and Triviality  , I have to admit to feeling very envious after last year and was thinking about it as I plodded round my slightly (very) shorter run this morning. Wonder if I'll ever be fit for an ultra again!? It is indeed a lovely course.

Wonder how Mrs Mac got on?

Good luck anyone doing SSS tomorrow. Sounds like a plan TP to sneak out and do it early!

Well done FFB and TriciaL . LOL at Tricia's 'new' name .

Elspeth - you have finished a marathon this year, so never say never on the ultra front .

Hmmmm, the SSS starts at 11am so I would need to get up early enough to get a good head start and not be passed by the speedier people at the front......how embrassing .

Els's predictive txts are often amusing
Els has not only done a marathon this year but the "world's toughest road marathon" so it says on the t-shirt!

Well done ffb and tricia.

Heading out for the Templeton 10 soon. Good luck to anyone doing the Southside 6.

04/11/2012 at 17:00

Well done Tricia & ffb, it was stunning out there yesterday wasn't it? I had a great run, finished in around 5.12 ish - a bit slower than last year but I felt I ran it much better

Hope Templeton 10 was good fun Alison?

Elspeth, of course you'll do another Ultra! Get yourself signed up for the Fling, give you something to aim for

Today I am mildly pissed. Without a race as an excuse sadly.

Wonderful running in the Oban area for me this weekend courtesy of my friends in the Edinburgh Hash House Harriers. 11.5 miles on the island of Lismore yesterday with great views of Morvern and Mull (and only slightly spoiled by a hypothermic wait for the ferry back to the mainland) then 8 miles in the hills south of Oban today.

I don't think you missed much in Inverness yesterday cragchick. Even our club don't like our course.

Did you get good pictures ffb? it was a bit dreich when I biked that route but the views are amazing.

Welcome back Kirsty. Hope Runningbhoy is getting along to Wednesday's game.

Really enjoyed the Templeton 10. Weather was perfect. finished in 87: 40 something, which is about a minute faster than my Arbroath time in March, so very happy.

Welcome back Kirsty.

Well done Alison, fast time there.

Mrs Mac - nice running, was it as nice a day as last year. I'm very jealous! Hope you had a cake for me in that cafe afterwards!

Morning FFB

morning BM and FFB

well done all Glen Oglers, Mrs Mac thats a great time!!! Well done Alison too!! GO sounds a nice one... maybe for next year....

Shattered this morning, not a great sleep.

Turbo and swim tonight. Taking 1 more week with no running just swimming, stretching and strengthening, with the turbo as some cardio, and making sure Im fully over things and back to health. Seeing as Ive had a run of bad luck lately I just feel I need some time to properl recover and sort myself out.

wor lass was asking if the Glen Ogle race is that 'nice place in Monarch of the Glen'

05/11/2012 at 18:01

Thanks for the 'well dones'. Well done Mrs Mac too.

Good to see Andy Murray win today (well, didn't see it, but followed online).

Evening

Good running Mrs Mac and Alison .

Followed some of the Southside Six route yesterday, did about 11m of it before turning back on a circuit, didnt see any runners, but did see the marshalls at some of the road junctions. Didnt realise they took them up the really steep section of hill at Eastwood Toll on the A77 - I run that hill lots, but it would be mean at that point in a race !! Very hard route altogether.

No running today, lots of work to do, puss has settled on his new radiator bed, cosy cat - feel like shoving him over and snuggling in, freezing tonight !!!

Highland Fling entry now in , considerably earlier than this year, where I entered the week before !

Hello

Thanks for the 'Well dones' Really am chuffed at how I ran, I CAN still do it

ffb, I reckon you may be the lady who ran with the lovely Robin? I missed him completely and it would've been nice to meet you. Next time

UTC, it is a cracker of a race. Good to hear you're being sensible and recovering.

Nice one TP, see you there Now just to persuade Elspeth.......

05/11/2012 at 19:48

Yes, Mrs Mac I ran with the lovely Robin  We had a blast.

Just want to say that the no stretching and copious amounts of alcohol recovery approach is not to be recommended (

Race report to follow after I deal with the cat on the lap situation.
