OK here it is - at the moment I am only two months into a running comeback and have not yet run further than 7 km. I am also not allowed to run hills due to the nature of the injury.

I just want you to know that my goal for 2005 is to run the LGT mountain marathon in Liechtenstein which includes 1800 metres of climbing.

The reason?

1. I need a challenging goal
2. I like scenery
3. I think Liechtenstein is a little strange.
4. (The main reason) At a marathon Expo two years ago I bought a baseball cap from the marathon and feel a bit of a fraud wearing it - and want to wear it with pride.

I don't care if it takes me 10 hours

Add your outrageous goals here.

IMUK triathlon.
(2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, 26.2 mile run).

Because I want to see if I can.

I don't mind how long I take (as long as it's under 17 hour cut-off).

My wanting to do first marathon is suddenly seeming a bit wimpish.... Am hoping to get through my PhD viva as well -I think you can all agree doing a PhD for 3 years in itself is stupid though ;)

Will have to look at more demanding events me thinks....

H2 - sounds like a perfectly good challenge to me!

Count,
I would love to but they're only 5 weeks apart. Still haven't quite ruled it out though...

Is it possible to run a half marathon in every British county? Maybe those lovely people at RW Towers would know if it would be possible throughout the course of a year.

I'm up for FLM and IMCH next year

Not a bad idea that, Dodge...

Jane - just skip IMUK then ;~) OMG I sound like AndyC!

FB - I've applied for FLM too, doing Edinburgh (although as a training run) obviously ToughGuy and a number of Tri events TBD to learn the ropes!

Lol! Candy would be proud of you!

When is ToughGuy?
28/09/2004 at 14:47
30th Jan....Jane there's a ladies list waiting for you to add your name!
28/09/2004 at 14:49
There's an awful lot of counties minkey, might have to include 10ks etc to run in them all.
28/09/2004 at 14:51
TC - those 2 are the tip of my iceberg for next year - no doubt a sprinking of 1/2's, a few tris (inclduing the Vitruvian 1/2 IM) and anything else that takes my fancy if I manage to keep all the bits in one place!!

If IMCH goes well, I may tackle New Zealand in 2006........

[.........what the f**k are you saying??? you stupid old fat git - get back to w*k.............]
28/09/2004 at 14:53
I quite fancy the idea of race the train....
Shall we plan for that?
28/09/2004 at 14:54
TC, if you catch the train, I will personally eat your sweaty underpants in one go.
28/09/2004 at 14:56
I thought the point was not to be caught...but that sounds like a challenge...You up for it?

FB - do you have a Bond, Golden Bond for FLM?
