Should I have written on the back of my shirt for the Reading HM ...

Are you expecting a medal if you finish in the towards the back of the pack ?

Be interesting to see what time you can do on Sunday, presuming it's you, you turn up, and you haven't just taken some random's name.

However, I prefer the threads where someone has been uber cocksure about some ridiculous aim and misses it by miles.

You're too realistic in your aims to be good value!

What time are you aiming for again?
15/03/2013 at 19:34

Well Ive got 3 times Im aiming for.

Time 1: 1:49:13 - This is Seren Nos personal best, and she said I didnt have the kahunas to beat that time.

Time 2: 1:47 - Literatin and others on here said thats the time I need to beat to consider myself a runner

Time 3: 1:45 - just because thats personally what im aiming for

I'll put it this way, if you offered me a 1:44:59 right now, I'd take it!

Ahem. I never said anything about times you had to beat to consider yourself a runner. I actually think being a 'proper' runner has nothing to do with times. But I will be impressed nonetheless if you get under 1:45, and I am even sad enough to look you up in the race results when they come out.

1.45 sounds sensible enough. Easy to do the maths on as well.
Good luck for Sunday.

david............I said as a young man who trains it would be difficult for you not to beat an overweight middle aged housewife..........

and i said you should do teh WAVA grading to get your estimated time......but you seem to forget that part

15/03/2013 at 19:42

ah David, the problem with aiming for times is there's always another target just round the corner.

eg, my last half, I had my own pb to beat, but then over a 20-30second range I had about 4 or 5 other rivals, or significant figures I also wanted to beat!

Good luck in your aims...I want you to sneak the 3rd target, just so more of us can offer up new targets

How did we know this classic disclaimer would be coming

Well, I did already offer him a secret target, but he doesn't get to know what it is until he beats it.

it's peeing in the wind trying to predict it, as we don't really know the weekly training, paces etc.

He might be hustling us all and smash 1hr 40

I actually think I would find that even more amusing than if he limps in at 2:05 or something. Maybe I'm just too nice?

Young David first tried to emerge as a bit of a tearaway on this forum, but he doesn't really have the nasty streak to do it. Also, he talks about running too much, which the most successful spambots on this site don't.

So i'd find it quite glorious if he suddenly emerges as a fast runner, and keeps it all running related!

I've got another target for you DF3.

Be faster than your girlfriend by 5 minutes

Jindalee that's no challenge, come on!

Oh wait you meant in the race

Lol Stevie! Yes, sorry I meant in the race
