Strangest Prize/Memento you've got from race running

So I did a local race at the weekend and was handed a spoon at the finish. Slightly odd I thought. Not engraved or anything. Just a regular spoon, Got me thinking about what strange or funny things other people have had given as a memento.

I won this Queen's Diamond Jubilee paperweight designed by a schoolchild for being first lady in a 10k race.

Was it made of wood?

Oh, and I won this dodgy Romanian vending machine cake bar for coming second in my club's handicap race:

...and also this large bag of random groceries for 3rd senior lady in a 30k trail race. Do I win this thread?

Ha, literatin you're certainly miles ahead so far. That paperweight is odd WD on being first female though. The groceries at least look useful.. Although i'd be insulted if they handed me shower gel!!

 An ash tray.. lol.

Hi Nose Nowt, it was a regular metal tea spoon..

Rob...  that is ridiculous... but I bet you've still got it... and it will always be more memorable than if they'd given you a non-descript medal or a pack of race-day nutrition!    BTW... not sure if you grasped what I was getting at in my last post!

In the goody bag of one race I did was a sachet of cellulite removal cream.

I was going to pass it on to the ex-wife but thought better of it ...

I was brought up around there, actually went to school in Wellingborough, and both my parents have taught in schools in the area. Truly delightful place

The Tadworth 10 gives out a different memento every year, I've had a small towel, insulated sandwich bag and thermal buff in years gone by.  The slate coasters at the end of the Conniston 14 are at least useful but I've still to work out what to do with the horse brass given out at the Hastings marathon some years back.  The commemorative wallet at the end of the Chiltern 100 Sportive was a little odd.

I didn't run in it, but a few of my club mates ran in a local race and were given a toilet roll at the finish.

I like the Hastings horse brass. It's no less useful than normal race medals. I just threaded a ribbon on mine and slung it over the end of the bookcase with the rest.

Wow! I'm feeling a little inadequate with my small collection of paperweights and running shop vouchers.  I've missed out on a set of 6 wine glasses by being out-sprinted to 4th in a 10k.  That would've been quite practical.

I am doing a race tonight that promises 'fantastic prizes'. I will keep you posted if I manage to win one.

Nice one.  Does your coach earn any commission?  All that hard work must be worth a Snickers bar and a disposable razor, surely?

He could have had the tortelloni and the Ribena. I didn't manage to consume those before the sell-by date.

Literatin, you also get a horsebrass for the Lingfield Dry Hill 10.

My favourite - Truro Half, a massive Cornish pasty and a pint of Skinner's ale. Marvellous fare.
