A weight-loss sub-thread of The Long Green Ribbon Thread.
Busy weekend, running around, just not in the way that I wanted. I had the audition on Friday just about as there was a really bad crash on the Motorway so I was stuck for a quite a bit.
I had a bike ride on Saturday for about 15 miles but didn't get to the race I wanted as we got some Christmas stuff in for the kids which took up the spare money I was hoping to have for the race.
How was everyone's weekend?
Morning LFC - good weekend for me thanks. Enjoyed watching the Chester marathon with all my neighbours yesterday. We were between miles 23 and 24 so were out from about 11am to 2.30pm until the stragglers came through with the clear up minibus.
Royal parks Half last Sunday. 2:26:49 set off a reasonable pace and got to 3 miles in 28:55 and to 6 miles, non-stop running (unusual for me) in 59:33. I hasten to add these are Garmin times and the actual mile markers took a bit longer to reach. So close to my goal of a sub hour 10K. I think I suffered rather in the second half for having given my all in the first 6 miles. Found myself doing far more walkie bits than I would have liked. Finishing time was about 5 mins over my Great North Run time. Oh well, I'll give it another go next weekend at the Oxford Half
Well Done RLTW!
Getting there Vixx
Need to catch up.
rltw, bigger picture re half is that your 10k time is going to go soon! Thats brilliant, well done you
I did a race at the weekend, 5 miles and it was mixed terrain, hilly and a lovely course, apart from the farmers field with thick sticky mud. My boots weighed a ton when I came off that field and I had to keep standing inpuddles to splosh it all off! 51.44, not unhappy with that at all.
Anyway, weigh day and still going down, 10st 10.7 - just over a pound lost.
How is everyone today?
Morning birkmyre - how goes it?
Well Done Wabo! That's another good loss! Good running too!
Good running RLTW and Wabo.
Physio says I can start running again - off out for a short, slow run tonight
Feel inspired by the Chester marathon runners on Sunday - thinking of entering the half which is in May 2013.
I am eating my way through a tiny box of Thorntons chocolates (tiny=8). OH got them for me with no explanation. Quite out of character - except he may be thinking it's our wedding anniversary (not til 12th). Good & bad - Good that he almost got the right day but bad that he thinks I'm only worth a tiny box these days .
Just lost a post !
Wabo: well done on weight loss.
Going to start weighing self weekly again from Tuesday.
Morning - 3 mile run completed last night. Knee ok this morning, rest today then run again tomorrow. I didn't know how much I would miss running until this injury stopped me.
Ok Birkmyre, I will start weighing myself every Tuesday as well.
