Liverpool Marathon, and just been and set a new personal record for a blood test. From collecting the form, to going to the hospital to having it done to getting back home in less than an hour.

Not a bad day up here. Long lie till 7am . Off out with MrsB later, shopping (gulp ) then for a meal as its our 23rd Wedding Anniversary tomorrow .

Our anniversary yesterday was 23 years too.  Where does the time go?  We got married in the Scottish half term hol so that my sis & family could come down & my little niece could be a bridesmaid - she is now married too! - and my daughter was her bridesmaid 3 years ago)

'Racing'  in Oxford Half tomorrow.  Home territory which seems a bit strange. I missed the innaugural event last year as I was already committed elsewhere.  They've changed the route a little this year to include more scenic bits through Christ Church Meadow and along  the river. Should be nice.  Not looking forward to the ring road though.

Vixx, in case I miss you later, I hope all goes brilliantly for Liverpool mara.  I'll be thinking of you in the morning, going the extra mile  (or 13!)

Mine is already done, but I am thinking I might wear a different t-shirt. I have to have one that hides the bumps.....

Oxford Half - What a perishing cold day. OH had offered to drop me - the car windscreen was really solidly iced!  Heavy mist kept us well chilled.   Fantastic moment as we passed through the start to see Sir Roger Bannister waving us off   What a gem!  Went quite well for the first few miles, a little slower than last week but I still found myself overtaking the 2:25 pacer, and then the 2:20 pacer .  Even crept ahead of the 2:15 pacer   for a while.. Got to 6 in a tad under the hour so was pleased with that.   My calf muscles were getting really tight and I struggled for the last couple of miles, Came in at 2:22:17 (most of the pacers snuck past me!) which is 4.5 mins faster than last week and only 39 seconds over my Great North Run PB but happy enough with that. . . 

Couldn't have run any further - which made me remember Vixx even more.  Hope it went well Vixx.

I got 5:53:38, which I will take after a crappy few previous marathons. Nice course, well organised and it was well supported too!

Fantastic Vixx.   Was it freezing with you too?  What's your mara PB?  I'd be happy with to get anywhere near your time.

My mara PB is 5:33:28, set in the nice flat surroundings of Berlin....

It was cold to start, but was lovely and sunny later on (but not too hot).
