FAT
MTViking, those scales do tend to overestimate the fat - how much it overestimates by depends on how expensive they are. Body Fat Scales are not particularly accurate because it's like one of those things at the fair where you hit something and watch it try to hit the bell and go 'ding'. The scales put a gentle electric current round your body, but because of gravity it only goes so far and then guesstimates for the parts of the body that it didn't reach.
The hand held ones only pass a current predominantly around the upper body, and so are inaccurate in a different way.
Use them as a guide. That's the best way to look at it - if it goes up, you need to do something, if it does down, then yay!
The machine I have is accurate to within 1%, but I paid nearly £1000 for it to use within my work.
How is everyone today?
