Burn Valley Half up in Masham. Tough run followed by a lovely tea and then hopefully a pint of Black Sheep or Theakstons at the Brewery. Hope it's not too hot.

Sunday 6th July 10:30am ....

Seventh race in the Cornish Grand Prix series for 2003 - woopee cos it's the first race in the series over 10 miles

Billed as "Quite possibly the toughest half marathon in the South West!"

I remember there being a concrete wall about Mile 12, trying to pass itself off as a road

Stig! crampons may be a neat idea ...

(so I thought I'd go round twice ... )

And are you going round twice?

Well I've asked but I think I know the answer already ... I doubt they'd accept TWO entries ...

although I've done it twice (2001 & 2002), I can't remember the course in detail, and wonder if it's possible to get lost? that's all I'm hoping for - mile markers and signs - they'll have cleared away all the water stations & the finishing clock and everyone will have gone home ...

I have a vague plan for hiding bottles for the 2nd half & a change of vest with another number on - all my kit (inc the helmet and motorbike gear!) left in Phoenix Leisure Centre ??? (not the storage van)

I may be only DREAMING ....

Why don't you do your first circuit before the start and your 2nd with the race. Then we won't miss our post race gossip.

Burn Valley half. It will be hot but Masham is God's place for real ale
