happy anniversary birky - hope you have a nice evening
Congratulations Birky have a good time.
Morning all - just 4.5 miles at SOC as shortly heading off for my training session. Blimey PSC, early start for you. Happy anniversary to you and Mrs B birky, hope she doesn't buy up too much of Scotland today. Morning to MC and valis.
Well after many false starts this week I finally got out for a run this morning, although I don't know if 10am really counts as SOC. I wore a compression top for the first time and a running jacket I got from Aldi the other that that is probably a size too small but still zips up. I felt a bit rigid when I was running but it wasn't too bad.
Just did an easy 1.5 miles as I'm starting back training and aiming to do a 5k in December so that fitted right in with the training programme I'm on.
Good Morning all
I hope you are all out running. It seems yesterday was world zombie day so belatted happy zombie day to everyone .
Chris, I hope you had your axe with you yesterday.
well, up and out very early today and managed 20 miles, lots of walk break and it seemed to take me forever but I did it. That means I will be able to do the marathon in 3 weeks doesn't it? Without dying...
lovely starry frosty morning when I set out, and weird patches of warm air when the sun eventually came out mixed in with the freezing air
Afternoon all - 11.5 miles for me, freezing cold and under dressed this morning, couldn't force myself to go for a swim afterwards. Beautiful day though, only other SOCers I saw were golfers, they are keen. MC, great running, you'll be fine on the day. Valis, I forgot my axe but have survived, but we haven't seen Chris in a while..... Well done on getting out there Pablo. Anyone racing this weekend, we haven't had the list up for a while?
Stayed up far too late last night to get up this morning But I am attempting 10 miles later, wish me luck! But I will start early mornings again tomorrow!
Maths, how many 20 milers have you done in your training programme, best advice is at least 5 totalling 100 miles. Also remember the marathon is 2 halves, the first 20 miles and the last 6, so best to give it the respect it deserves, you can do a 26 mile walk in 7 hours or wait til you can run it all and do it in a lot less. Hope this helps.
13.3. hilly miles done for me . Not exactly SOC at 9am but it sure felt like it after a late night! Very cold, but was worth it for the gorgeous views and clear blue skies.
Congrats on the 20miler MC, that's great going!
alex - that is the first 20 miler I have done, but I have done a couple of 18 milers. It is my first marathon so should get me round. I don't really care about how long it takes for the first one. I have been getting quicker over shorter distances lately, so my aim after this is to build up the length of my quicker runs. Well, that and build up my swim and bike for triathlon.....
well done Tiny
craigerrs - 2 miles is still 2 miles, more than nothing, so well done
