Morning all - birky, I have your rain, do you want it back? Thrashing it down this morning and more puddle hopping than running, pretty mild though. Welcome Agent Ginger, although you'll be busy with your odd dreams still at this time. Have looked at an old race report on here TG and it seems the Gatliff can be very muddy, after some LDWA bog hopping experiences I think I might leave entering to closer to the time. Happy hump day everyone.

we have rain too - although it blew over mid run so went from long sleeve waterproof to a lightweight gillet.  Very strong winds though here.. and got freaked out when a horse chestnut fell off a tree and stabbed my shoulder!  Did I squeal, oh boy! 

Kate, Gatliff was dry last year - cracking race.  But previous 2 have been a tad boggy!

I am afraid my soc involved marking not running. I did manage a noc last night after going to parents evening though, and have spinning and swimming tonight if I can manage it - I have skimped on the swimming lately

Morning all, out with the cat at 5.15am, it was dark, I mean really dark, pouring with rain (not sure I should have been expecting champagne or something!), gusty winds and enjoyed all 5.6 miles of it.  The cup of tea at the end was glorious.  We use tea leaves and if you don't already, try it, the taste is so much better than bags.

PSC love the horse chestnut, the only problem being out on your own in the dark is how easily you can get spooked.  Not easy to taper on an out and back when you realise you're 4 out

tea is God's drink of choice..... and leaves do make a good cuppa, but more fiddly!

Last year I did all my marathon long runs first thing in the morning, as a way of running to work.  So leaving between 6.00 and 6.30 and getting up to 21 miles or so.  Was a fantastic way to start the day.  First time I did it I felt pretty knackered all day at work, but I soon got used to it.

Noticed stupid oclock running gets 2 page feature in the shortlist. Free mag handed out in Central Glasgow and I think most other city centre. Some guy was running through Central London at 4am. Wonder if he saw Gemma ?

Ironman test study thing on Saturday then Abingdon marathon on Sunday. Impressive SOC commuting TG, I think it's bad enough getting in for 7.30.

Day off today so thought I would shift things around with a long run today, but haven't stopped talking to people at work all morning.  Still got out for a 5 miler just now but needed to be back for a live piece on the local BBC radio station.  I work in football and pricing is the topic of the day on the BBC so talking about ticket pricing, and before you say, it's not my fault
