All well again, run, swim and spin tonight, I did wonder if I was going to die in spin at one point but I survived. It is impossible to take it easy when on a spin bike with someone shouting at you. A couple of days in the garden now which is nice, into the new job on Thursday ajob old job on Friday so making the most of it.

Must be something in the air if none of us were sleeping! It's been a long day.

Morning all - enjoying my first day if freedom with a lie in, didn't get up until 5am, naughty old me. Weights done, yoga next, spin later this morning and track tonight. Hope everyone slept better last night, despite more rain beating down.

Chris, Just finished the why ice article very intresting and makes a lot of sense.

morning

I slept better and had a lovely run this morning, very mild. Realised I was taking it too easy and walking much more than is necessary so threw in a few hill reps at the end

I read the article Chris and it sort of makes sense. I never take NSAIDs anyway as I am allergic!

Morning..

Wet here and overcast. 4 miles on Hankley with a very wet and muddy dog.

Kate - weather looks good tomorrow so grab your wetsuit and meet up for a lap of Frensham?

12/11/2013 at 08:38

Chris - unless it's going to be 40 degrees between now and then, no. Interesting article, I always thought ignoring injury was the best thing to do!

Morning Birky - will have to check out that book, sounds good. I'm reading 'Swim' by Lynn Sherr, which, as the title suggests, is all about swimming!

Kate - you're missing out on all the health benefits of cold water swimming - I knocked 18 minutes off my Ballbuster time this year and I'm pretty sure it's thanks to regularly freezing my butt off in icy lake water!

Evening all -

750m swim this afternoon under the watchful eye of the police!

Morning all - 6 slow recovery miles in the freezing cold, but a beautiful morning OR 2 NW 2 cats 3 dogs. 800m reps at track last night. Chris, clearly someone has reported you as someone who needs an eye kept on them! Glad you're enjoying the Mo book birky, it's on myChristmas list.

Frosty, sunny run and a first outing for the gloves and hat. Gunfire, smoke bombs and circling Chinooks to keep us entertained on the way round.

Morning all - 10 miles from me as well, 4 at tempo pace OR 1 NW 1 cat. Last night's swimming lesson taught me that I need to use my legs more as at the moment they're dragging me backwards, and hot Pilates told me I don't like hot Pilates. PSC, am looking forward to this morning's run report, much warmer today. Into London with the new job later today.

Morning

The battle still rages at Hankley Common and there's more filming at the weekend and early next week for the 'Man from Uncle'. So will be looking out for Guy Ritchie and co over the next few days.

Had a nice little swim yesterday afternoon with the ducks and swans and hundreds of seagulls. Valis - the police were nowhere to be seen so maybe they've decided that I'm just a harmless eccentric who's doing no harm to anyone but himself!

Kate - good luck with your new/old job.

PSC - good to hear you're up and running again.

Frensham yesterday...

7 miles this morning. I purposely went hilly and the psoas seemed ok with that whereas a flat run a week ago left me quite sore. I'm sticking with my Nike Frees and enjoying feeling the surface through them. Cold wind off the see today. But I was loving it.....

On the shifts I work. Sometimes I finish at midnight. So often I have done a run or cycle at 01:00 or 2:00 am, rather than miss a session.
It's quite nice to go around empty roads with nobody else around. It's like the post apocalypse in the I Am Legend film.
I've also access to a 24 hour gym. That's also pretty good, having the entire gym to yourself in the early hours of the morning.
