Morning all - and especially to the new folk in this weather! 6 miles NW 1 fox, 2 cats, 2 dogs x 2, both in shorts, ouch 1 Hovis van. Trying to follow the Marathon Talk advent calendar running on Facebook so 3 x 5 min efforts perked me up a bit. Got out yesterday before the snow but IT failure and a busy day meant I couldn't share my snow stories, then the trains all went to pot. Anyway, I'm rambling, have a good day all and look after those chops MK.
did a little 2 mile run outside last night - first time running outside since october - the weather has changed a little since then!
and an hour on the turbo this morning
Morning all and hello to Sills (again), Spitfire and eastendrunner. Pavements lethal at 5.15 this morning so turned back, jacket off, change trainers and into the garage and treadmill for 7 miles. NW just two or three BBC news reporters also on an early start
got a couple of hours in this morning.. PHOTOS
It is stunning out there. Need to have a quick shower then off to a funeral of a very old family friend.
I watched the car v bike programme last night - I wish I hadn't. It made me realise how many people in this world are total twonks.
Take it easy folks..
Photos look superb PSC, I'm going to head out tomorrow for my first stupid o'clock start...just one decision to be made, do I brave the local trails or stick to the roads...this was my part my normal route last week!
Flooding brings misery to householders and commuters (...& runners!)
Well made it out at 6am and the temp was -3! Very cold, but surprisingly the pavements weren't bad at all. Got my first NW too ........ a cat
Great photos PSC. It was similar in Surrey this morning, very cold -4c but great to be out running. I also saw the bike v car programme - it was quite shocking especially as a girl from work died in similar circumstances to the young woman in the film.
Morning you lot
4M Steadily done mainly off road due to icy paths.
NW: 1 owl (Ovett is his name newcomers ) 1 Kingmill and Menzies Vans, 3 Large Christmas Trees that seemed very bright this morning 4 Post Office Vans, 4 horses and 1 cyclist .
sills: No probs the more the merrier on here.
Slow: Always a good to get your first NW
Just got to my desk after my first 5am miles...7 miles easy on the roads. About 0C here, wrapped up warm but after a couple of miles had to strip off due to some serious overheating! Only NW to report...a couple of OAP's!
I am having a very lazy week - alarm went off, I stayed in bed, oops. Oh well, let's just call it a recovery week and look ahead.
PSC - great pics. Hope the funeral went well, always a sad occasion.
have a great Friday everyone
Morning all, out at 5.15 for a 9 miler. Slightly warmer (my car on the way to work said 2degC) than the last couple of days so no ice or snow problems. Ran a loop round town and then repeated it for the mileage needed, after about 1.5 miles I ran past the field of shetland ponies and there was just one visible, right by the fence on the path I was running, seemed to be sheltering from the wind. It was still there when I did the second loop. NW two shetland ponies, probably the same one
Morning all - later start for me today as I have a day off and wanted some of my run to be in the light, regretted it running the last mile home in the traffic though. 6.6 miles, 2 fast and slipping all over the place on ice patches, amazing that it's just crept above freezing but it feels comparatively warm. Taking my mum and brother to the Albert Hall to watch the Masters tennis for their Christmas present then out for dinner tonight, hopefully not too mobbed by office parties. Happy Friday.
Morning, Black ice on the roads this morning and also lots of slippery bits on the trails.
Anybody racing at the weekend?
Me, cross country in Bourne Woods Chris, so may see you there. I think I've also got a place for a sneaky marathon on Wednesday......
So what time will you be in the Bourne Woods Kate? I'll be passing through there at about 10:30.
And good luck!
11am start so expect to have a bir OR count!
Kate are you saying you're just going to throw in a marathon on Wednesday?
