12 miles this morning longest run in 3 months hopefully all injury and health problems behind me now, just got to speed up . Wet  here however a  very warm 12 c.........ok so not quite 31 but not bad for the time of year.

having a rest day to see if I can shake the cold off, shame because it is lovely and mild, although very windy. Would have been nice to have run up a big hill to survey all the flooding below

bloody hell it's hot out there................. a positively balmy 13 degrees and a warm wind to boot!  Had to strip off a bit on the hoof and ran 8 miles in T shirt.  Wish I had shorts on too, but running in lycra pants would scare the hell out of the local farmers so kept my longs on...

My cold has gone....  so hopefully everyone else will have the same 4 or 5 days and then clear...

Morning all (again)!

PSC, get yourself down to the seafront, not quite so warm! Boiling for the first few miles though, then the promised wind picked up, ankle deep puddles and plenty of mud. The headwind for the last 2 miles took the wind out of my sails so pretty pleased with 4.13.57, bearing in mind you have 4 stretches of gravel beach. A bit different from 5.30's beach. Hope you feel OK tomorrow after your exertions valis.

a little 4 mile run/walk this morning, at 6 rather than 5 and was a very different experience - many more people than I would normally see

think I will try for a turbo session later as well - my mum always takes the kids to the panto on xmas eve so will have an or so to myself. Well, if they can get there, the river Trent lies between us and the panto and the floods are getting worse!

Afternoon all..

Cheeky little 9 miler for me this morning but no santa hat I'm afraid. Very wet and muddy and my running shoes have been permanently wet for about a week since all this rain arrived on the scene! Think I'll be getting trenchfoot soon if things don't dry out a bit!

NW today... 2 deer, 1 woodpecker, 2 ducks (enjoying the weather), 5 squaddies, several dog walkers + dogs, 2 gays, 1 herd of cows, 1 horse + rider and a (normally friendly) border collie who growled at me when I tried to pat her on the head!

P&D  plan week 1 finished with a 12 miler yesterday, again struggled to stay slow at first.  Have shitfed week 2 slightly for the strange working and social week  so out for an 8 miler today with 10 x 100 metre strides.  Have you noticed all the programmes seem to have dropped the word fartlek for strides, seems a shame to lose the Swedish from our language

I first heard that word when I was school and giggled a bit then... 30 years on and I still use the word in it's proper sense.  Strides is Aussie for 'trousers' isn't it?

I might be sneaking out for a SOC tomorrow.   But have been resting today.
