Good morning all
12 miles inc park run still got a few niggles but dropped a couple of runs this week fingers crossed all should be good for Brighton next weekend.
Welcome Dean and Tanya Hope you both got out nice and early this morning.
I am still niggling too so have changed my training schedule. The medics will tell you that running injuries are repetitive strain injuries so have reduced my training to 1 day per week. And on that day I will do either an ultra or marathon!!! LOL South Downs LDWA tomorrow - bring it on!
Good luck tomorrow PSC hopefully catch up with you next weekend.
Afternoon all - in the spirit of being stupid I ended up doing a mini triathlon this morning - 2.4k swim, spin class then lovely run through the woods, not really a taper for Sussex tomorrow. Good luck PSC. Nice NW birky, hopefully you'll stay niggle free valis. Welcome along Dean. See you tomorrow MC. Swim analysis session this afternoon so I may be joining you for a walk!
I have my LSR planned for tomorrow and want to get it done in the morning so I have the rest of the day to do stuff. Any advice on what I should do/eat for dinner/sacrifice to relevant gods so I am fuelled and ok for a morning run tomorrow.
I'm trying to go into this with an open mind but I have to admit I'm terrified it's going to feel hellish!
Not been on for a while. backed by 45 6am runs this year I am ready for tomorrow's marathon (my 1st race since October). After getting up at 5.30am tomorrow to get to the race, no more getting up at for 6am to run for a while I think!!
In for a nosey.
PSC - good luck tomorrow
Kate - I just picked up my number - can't remember what it is it is in the boot of the car - I'll have a look in a minute. Think I will wear running tights and a pink top. Not sure how much to wear considering walking fast isn't as warm as running, maybe two layers then I can strip off a layer if I am too hot. I'll have a look at your photo on facebook and see if I manage to recognise you tomorrow!
Good luck tomorrow Kate, MC and PSC.
!0k run this morning followed by an afternoon of lawn mowing! NW 1 rabbit, 1 pheasant and a jay
cheers all.... i'm suddenly looking forward to it! I have the route from last year so nav should be easy! I've also just sewed a front pouch onto my inov8 pack to take a bottle. Very pro!!
I'm pleasently weary - I took by new bike out for an hour or so today and absolutely have fallen back in love with cycling. I got a Giant TCX2 cross bike, much more comfy than a roadie but same shape, bars, etc. It's the dogs bits. Down hill it will still push 30+ but it is generally slower as it has softer/bigger tyres and is heavier. I've even put a frame on the back so that I can commute with it if the weather ever imrpoves.
Tired and happy....
good luck tomorrow MC and Kate.
Kate and Maths best of luck for tomorrow
scoffing some porridge before heading off. Feels weird to do a race where I am not running, but I guess no-one except me cares anyway frosty but sunny here this morning
Morning you lot
All the best psc, maths and Kate
Rest Day but been out walking with Geordie
8 miles this morning a bit of chilly start to the day but with the sun gradually getting higher it was nice to feel the first rays of warmth coming through.
Nw 5 horses, 4 moorhen, 2 swans 6 ducks
now time to get start getting ready, taking youngest nephew to football again hopefully beat the black cats.
kate - didn't manage to see you. Had a good time but wished I could have just run it. Only took 10 minutes longer than last year when I was running though
evening all just back from the sport that shall not be mentioned
Scored big points with Nephew when on the way home I was the only person to recognise him and then get him to autographed my nephews programme, my childhood hero Clive Walker. Even better when he got off he turned round said bye and waved for about 20 minutes I let my nephew believe I new him from years back.
Well done Maths would of been so easy to stay at home, but you didn't give up and when the knees fixed you should be able to smash your previous time.
how much fun was that... LDWA South Downs mara done and dusted... Loved it and it was T Shirt and Shorts weather (just) - wonderful sunshine! Second time I've done this event and have to say it's a winner. 28 miles of mahoosive hills - constantly climbing (or so it seemed)!
Will have a think about a report when I've had a bit of a zzz as I'm shattered!
Well done Maths/Kate.
Cold one up here today
A hill session done off road. 6 x Hills. Mile warm Up/Down
NW: 1 owl, 1 deer, 4 rabbits, 3 BMWs, 1 Nike trainer randomly lying on path.
Well done to Maths?Kate
valis: Good Blues spotting. Clive Walker was a cracking player back in late 70s/early 80s.
