I don't thinkso . I am 6 ft Broad and too muscly. On top of the plentiful muscle if a thich layer of fat 'round stomach region. I do not glide a la Gabresalasse(sp), I trundle and strain through.

describe yourself and tell us if you really do look like the runner you are

I look nothing like a runner

But i am one

I'm short, dumpy and don't look atheletic at all.

But I think I do look like a runner because very few people at my running club look atheletic, so I fit in well with the majority.

Nope not at all, most good runners I know are built like a pencil. I have more upper body strength. My swim coach is always moaning about my bulky shoulders weighing too much, causing drag etc. Besides I have to look good on the beach don't I? I may not be the fastest but I run with style and grace and with enough left in the tank to appreciate the exquisite female forms around.

Well whenever I've seen a photo of myself in a race, I look like I'm walking!

Certainly not!!!

I probably look like a runner in that I'm tall and skinny. Unfortunately that doesn't translate into any kind of speed (or style or grace!) but I'm working on it...

Not reall but my tummy is toning up nicely! I think there will always be a bit to much of me to look like a runner.

That would be a no

I will never be slim ala typical image of runners - my basic shape under the blubber is curvy and I will be happy to rediscover those curves one day

Far too tall and broad shouldered (and big boobed!) to look like a runner.  I look reasonably athletic and well muscled, but more like a rower or a swimmer than a runner.

(I used to be a pretty good/pretty serious rower - so that would make sense)

I don't run like a runner either - I feel sorry for the pavement when I'm running over it

But I am one!

I don't look like a runner, or a swimmer or a rower, I don't run like a runner, swim like a swimmer or row like a rower, doesn't stop me from having a go though - however funny it is to see my running, swimming or rowing - Michael Flattley eat your heart out (I have feet going in all directions)
07/09/2007 at 09:48
maybe that should be - my feet flick out in all directions, I'm not an octopus, might be a better swimmer if I was!!

Dee dee you are an axelotle!! (sp?)
07/09/2007 at 09:55
only in my spare time found the picture by googling 'weird animals' - there is some freaky stuff out there!!
07/09/2007 at 09:56

I look like a runner.

But its not Paula Radcliffe.

LOL deedee I looked after my colleges axelotle on year through the summer - it died on me but it was old
07/09/2007 at 09:59
I did a degree in biology, so a fair bit of time was spent looking at axelotles - being the odd critters that they are, I thought they were fab back then, but thenI do also have a snail as a pet (claimed it would be a great pet for the kids...).

Heck, beats putting an actual picture of me (good grief no)!

I am a runner so by definition I look like a runner.

I always thought I must look like a runner, all sleek and elegant and stuff, but photos of me in races show me as a little round person shuffling along.
