Any Dentists around?

I just want some reassurance/advice. I am pregnant (24 weeks) and have chipped two back teeth in the past couple of weeks (one whilst eating yoghurt, the other whilst flossing!). I did see my dentist for a check up a few weeks ago, and things were good.

Anyway, I made an appointment for Monday morning but now appear to have an abscess around one of the teeth. I've managed to move the appointment forward to tomorrow, but I'm worried about my treatment options, with being pregnant.

Any ideas of what I might have to go through?! I'm concerned about needing antibiotics - but would this be likely to fix the problem?

I'm not medical princess, but surely dentists must have the ability and non damaging drugs to treat pregnant women? I remember going to the dentist with one of my pregnancies, but sorry, can't remember what I had done. I'm sure it'll be fine...

Thanks KittenKat, I'm just feeling nervous and worried...not the most confident dental patient in the world, bit if a wuss, especially with a baby on board ;)

I'm a complete wuss at the dentist, cancelled an appointment a few weeks ago as couldn't face it! Understand the baby bit, but I'm sure they can treat you with no risk to bump.
8 weeks into my 2nd preg, I had a really bad vomiting bug, I actually had to have an injection to stop me vomiting. I asked my GP if the bug would have harmed the baby and she actually said 'Well if all is ok at you 12 week scan, then no'

Can you imagine how I felt!!

Oh dear, that sounds awful! And four weeks to wait until you knew if it was alright. Glad things worked out in the end.
