Healthy or not?

I have read lot's of conflicting reports on the health benefits (or not) of eating eggs.

One camp says they are an excellent source of protein and the more outdated(?) one says they contribute to high cholesterol levels.

What camp are you in?

I eat the ones that say they are high in omega-3 fatty acids

Don't know, don't care, I love em! My favourite post run thing to eat is a couple of hard boiled eggs and toast.

A cheese omelette is one of life's little pleasures.

Eggs are great. As a chicken keeper I would say that and I eat loads. Had my cholesterol checked recently and my HDL good cholesterol is high. Thats good not bad I understand.

Cheers for that!

Good news as I probably eat about 6 or 8 weeks a week.

Eggs are brilliant, cholesterol isn't the evil demon it is made out to be. Keep eating

Yeah, I read an article recently, that essentially said that eggs aren't as bad as some make out!

I eat a fair few from time to time. I've had 13 this past week, and on average maybe have 20-40 a month, all hard boiled though.

Just as long as you dont go frying them in loads of oil, you should be fine to have a scoff!

Where did you read that eggs were bad for choleterol? Could you tell us your sources? It wasn't the bloke down the pub was it?

It was the accepted wisdom 20-30 years ago.  When my Dad had a heart attack the diet sheet he was given said no more than one egg a week.
