Two miles into a fairly ordinary run, I was stopped by a sharp pain in my calf which felt very much like cramp. I've been treating it with heat and massage since, which eases most of the soreness, except for when I get my thumbs into a section of about two inches along the inside bottom of the muscle, quite deep in. Each day since, running a mile or so has eased it off, followed by a comfortable mile, only for the pain to then come back quite suddenly, and severely enough to make me walk. The rest of the day is oddly variable, sometimes wincing, sometimes unaware of any discomfort.
Is this familiar to anyone? Can you have cramp for five days? Any advice would be appreciated.
