Hello

I have been told I am having a Gastroscopy Investigation next Thursday to see if I have Coeliac Disease. When I saw the specialist ages ago she mentioned that I need to eat the foods that cause me problems, so that the test works. I have been cutting back on these foods recently though because I have felt so awful and now have the appointment with a week's notice!

Will it work if I stuff myself silly with bread etc between now and then, or have I messed up?

Any help much apreciated!

unfortunately-you need to have been eating a gluten containing diet for 4 weeks plus, or your biopsy may not show anything

Thanks PH. Bugger! I have been eating some things, but having rye bread instead of regular, that kind of thing.

I'll have to just let them know when I go.

Oh dear. I'm sure I just got a receptionist, who said 'Yeah, that's not a problem. If your symptoms have disappeared (I didn't say that!) maybe you don't need to come in'

So, I'll go as planned and let them know the situation. I do need to have it done.

but if they dont find anything-you may have to have it done again
Phone up the specialists secretary
