Getting Tape to Stick

Hi!

I've recently switched to trying Micropore tape to prevent runners' nipple, but I have trouble getting it to stick properly, as it never really gets onto the skin - just the hairy bits.

Anyone got any solutions, other than to shave strips either side of my nipples?

not such a bad suggestion methinks

there is a joggers nipple thread somewhere here
....best suggestion seemed to be corn-plasters over t'nips - depends on how big they are and how hairy...

Well, the nips aren't hairy, but the bits at the side are!

Maybe I should stick to smaller bits of tape.

I got the suggestion for Micropore tape from the thread you mentioned - I've been trying it out for the last couple of runs.

Vaseline is better than micropore!

Thanks Duggy - I was using vaseline but found it rubbed off after a bit - particularly if it was wet weather and my top got drenched. Maybe I should carry a supply around with me!

The tape you all need is made by 3M annd it's called Durapore. I've been using it for years and it always sticks. In fact it's a bit of a bugger to get off. It's used in hospitals but I don't know if you can get it over the counter.
Hope this helps

Thanks - I've just got Micropore.

I'll go and raid the local hospital now ;-)

Where do you get BodyGlide from?

is it available in Boots and stuff?

Iain,

The answer is to wax your chest - that way the pain from runners nipple will suddenly seem insignificant and the tape will stick ;-)
