OK, I can't be bothered to read all the threads that have gone before.

Basically, my foot hurts and it feels better when I apply ice. How often should I apply ice and how for how long should it be applied?

Peas of choice = Morrisons bettabuy garden peas, 44p for 2lb.

At last ! Another cryotherapy thread...

Previous experts have said no longer than 10 mins a session (competely forget the explanation for, but it sounded good at the time !)

..and repeat every couple of hours (followed by compression and elevation if poss)

PS Is there a Morriston's near Cardiff ? Tesco's 'Value' ones currently do it for me - am keen to experiment though. Diameter, bag size + uneatability (just in case someone else consumes with disastrous effects) the key factors needless to say...

PPS Whats wrong with the foot DB ? Hope nothing serious aka stress fracture, plantar f etc

Morrison's in Risca is my local corner shop.

Not sure what I've done to the foot, it just hurts about an inch behind my little toe. I'm working on the theory that it's bruised or that it's an age related joint kind of thing. Seems easier today than yesterday, at least I'm walking rather than hobbling. May try running tomorrow for the first time since Saturday.

Ten minutes feels about right, am using two bags of peas and forming a foot sandwich. Heaven in this weather.

You should leave the ice on for 7-10 mins BUT no longer as it has the opposite effect. Whilst the ice is on compress it, by wrapping the ice round in a bandage and elevate it. Repeat every hour and this should help with the inflammation and sweeling. Hope this helps!
