Running my first marathon next week at Madrid. I've been getting pain in knees whilst training. Would it help to take painkillers during race?

Haven't asked Dave. It's not seriously painful, more annoying! Was just wondering if anyone does this?

Avoid ibuprofen whilst running- it can knacker your kidneys. Paracetamol is safer.

You can buy ibuprofen cream. I get lower back problems on long runs so occasionaly use the cream instead of tablets. You can get it at any chemist but both Tesco and ASDA (large stores) do their own versions at about half the price.
