Pins and Needles in Feet

Hi Everyone

I've always been a regular runner and run to Marathon distance, but following health problems, have only just recently started running again because I have managed to secure a place in the London Marathon 2010!  My problem is that when I reach the 2 mile point, I develop pins and needles in my feet, they don't stop me from running, but I find it uncomfortable for a mile or so!  Has anybody else experienced this or have any idea why?

 Regards

Sue

I get it in my left foot. No idea what causes it - thought it may have been tight laces but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Could be lots of things - I used to get it until I started lacing more loosely, but I still get it now, usually when I don't stretch enough, start too fast or go up a hill to early in my run.

Thought about the laces, might try and loosen them..Thanks for advice.

I generally run on a treadmill, I get it around 5-6km mark; noticed when i have the treadmill on any sort of incline it comes on. when I revert back to zero incline it slowly disappers.

I've posted this answer on another thread but I used to suffer from the same problem until I started lacing my trainers in a different way. I thread the laces throught the top set of holes near the toes then miss out the next two sets of holes, continuing to lace up on the 4th set of holes nearer the ankle and continuing on. It looks a tad odd and I do get comments as my trainers aren't laced up across the middle of my foot but it really helps.

I get this too across my big toe to my middle toe! Might need to try lacing my trainers up a different way.

i have been experiencing this with new shoes that feel slightly too big for me, i was thinking it could well be the width of the shoe also??
thats more questions than answers!
