Soya milk intolerance

I used to get horrendous stomach problems. I'd sit at work all day and be in agony and it used to affect my running too.

This just went away in time (thank god since it was a nightmare) yet the problems seem to have come back today...

Sat here at work in so much pain - very similar to what I used to experience at my old workplace.

The only different thing I've done this morning is put soya milk on my cereal... I haven't had soya milk for ages since I only ever have a little milk on my cereal so just have normal semi-skimmed. I know you can be lactose-intolerant but can you be soya intolerant?

I'm a vege but don't generally consume any other soya products...

Anyone?

apparently so

I've never heard of soya intolerance, but have had problems with soya / vegetable margarines.  I have gluten and lactose intolerance, drink rice milk and eat soya yoghurts, but I do have a reaction when using soya / vegetable margarine in cooking.

Yes you can be intolerant. I have heard of people who are, and in addition don't take cows milk (various people had various issues ranging from another intolerance through to being vegan or that they didn't like the taste). It means they have to substitute with things like rice milk, oats milk or even coconut milk, some even make their own.

Yes you can be - I know a guy who had some digestion trouble and had to have only rice milk because soya was as bad as cow's milk to him.

my daughter has soya and dairy intolerence, and has done for a couple of years, although she can eat some soya in small doses now. We use oatley oat milk - also a chocolate flavour out there - she enjoys it -could be worth a go!

As above, you can indeed have an allergy/intolerance to soya. It's simple to treat - just don't consume soya products
