I am new to running but have played football for many years, flexability is something I currently do not have but I am stretching everyday and working hard on this...My question is, I am able to run for around 5/6 minutes then my back stiffens soo much I reallt struggle to run, can you guys advise how I can help this problem?
It may be worth going to your local running shop and seeing if they can do a gait analysis as the wrong shoes can cause all sorts of problems. Alternatively a good sports massage might identify some areas which ned to be worked on. Good luck
the stiff back may be down to poor core stability (the deep muscles around the spine, lower stomach and pelvis area) as you say you have poor flexibility
check out some pilates classes to help improve this
