Up at the crack of dawn. Porridge brewed, coffee downed.

Today a crack squad of elite athletes are taking on the challenges presented by the Baggeridge Country Park in the West Midlands. I will take great pleasure in watching them admiringly while they lap me.

Race preparations in the Cavern going smoothly - hbjb has already started her warm-up, Pix and Duck are so laid-back that they're still asleep, and I'm rounding up all the blankets and bobble-hats I can find for after the race.

Well that was fun.

Pixie, Duck and heebeejeebee now safely at the cavern, flushed with success. Pixie is full of praise for her pace maker.

i wouldn't be so cruel to an old man!!
No seriously it was a fab race .. much better than I expected but very hard on legs that are used to tarmac!
The water came to knicker line (as decided by duck hbjb and I) so wasn't toooo bad but those stairs killed me
did manage a sprint at the end only to find the finish futher away than expect and I died! almost lost my shoe in the last 20m and could have thrown up at the end!
Was rescued by v-rap and tinks who sat me down on a bench with warmed towels and comfort
was then ferried home to the cavern with a hot water bottle on my lap and feed until I could burst!
