I set off all alone (tears, wet hankies out ) in the dark, cold, mist about 7.20 this morning. I made up the route as I went along and it got light but it stayed cold, eventually got to the towpaths of the Kennet & Thames where the water is really high. Ran over the weir and all the gates were open, no chnace if you went in as the water was flowing so fast. Still cold, it started to rain at about 9 miles. We Eagles are tough old birds so I dug in and eventually completed 15 miles - with NO STOPS, and at a fraction under 10 minute mileing.
Have spent the rest of the day tending to my oldies then visitng Mrs E's oldies, now home all alone (that's 3 nights running) as Mrs E has gone out to a local amateur theatre with the Coyote.
Everyone okay in this shite weather?
Big hugs to my lonesome Eagle ((((()))))
You did so well with your run. You are an amazing old bird! Well done.
I seriously didn't think it was worth risking being far away from home today as the weather has been so terrible. I ended up not running but clearing my hoss fields instead, so I was out in the storm for about 3 hours. I got drenched right through my waterproofs and two layers of clothes and even past my unmentionables! The rain has been ceaseless here and the wind has really picked up again this afternoon.I'm hoping tomorrow morning will be calmer so that I can get a decent plod done. It won't compare with Eagle's though.
You safe and sound Speedy?
We know you're not suffering as we are Lord Toes! Hope all is well on the far side?
I think you meant farty side Limper (quack, quack).
How many days to the Coastal? The emails keep coming!
4 weeks tomorrow Eagle.
if it helps a piccie from the patio
It doesn't help Tippy.
Howling gales down here this morning. Worse than yesterday.
Oh it's not just the weather that you can look forward to though is it Tippy - there's the traffic, the Christmas not-good cheer and w*rk as well to return to!!!And of course there's your lovely Poopy waiting for you!
Not a good day. Will aim for an early pre-w##k run tomorrow to clear my mind.
